Hi, I’m Sarah, a quiet but friendly 37-year-old looking to share a relaxed home with someone for the next six months while I see if living in Adelaide is right for me. I spent a few days there in January and fell in love with the place, but I want to make sure it’s the right fit before committing to a longer lease. I’m currently based in Melbourne, though I have friends in Adelaide who can help inspect places remotely if needed. I don’t drive, so I’m looking for somewhere close to public transport.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, painting, drawing, photography, and jewellery making. I’m a former horticulturist who would love a garden to potter around in. I love birdwatching, photographing insects and spiders, and contributing to iNaturalist. I’m also passionate about science, politics, learning languages, and keeping my mind busy, and I’m really into sci-fi and anime.

I’m currently on the Disability Support Pension and not working, but I hope to return to study or work once I’ve settled in and have my health more under control.

I have a four-month-old kitten called Maurice who is litter trained and learning commands like “off”, “sit”, and coming when called. He’s an indoor cat that currently has access to a secure catio, and it’d be great if the new home could offer something similar. 

As an asthmatic, I’m looking for a smoke-free home. I’m also severely allergic to lavender, rosemary, sage, thyme, marjoram, and oregano, so housemates need to avoid bringing these into the house, whether in food or cosmetics.

I’m looking for an unfurnished room, as I have a queen bed with a wide headboard and attached bedside tables (approximately 2500 mm wide and 2250 mm deep in total). I also have a large desk (1520 mm x 800 mm), so I’ll need a reasonably sized room and/or space for my desk elsewhere in the house.
