Hi
I’m Mike, a young, active, chilled 42 year old male from Liverpool.
I emigrated from Liverpool to Perth on 12th Feb 24.
I’ve been a police officer for 20 years and I’m moving over with the 100s of others from the UK to join WAPOL.
It’s just me. Circumstances changed in Sept 22 when myself and my partner split up and although really sad and unfortunate it has given me the chance to pursue this exciting opportunity.
I’ve been living in temporary accommodation (a family household) in Joondalup since my arrival.
Im active and enjoy swimming and running, but will turn my hand to anything. I love music and socialising, good food and red wine and the occasional beer.
I had only even been to the east coast of Australia for a friend’s wedding. So had never visited Perth previously.
I have done a lot since I have been here and love travelling and seeing new places, experiencing new things.
From early June I will be working in the CBD and will be working shifts. Something like 2 days, 2 lates and 2 nights then 4 off. I’ve never been able to sleep well doing nights, so I’m a bit apprehensive about this.
