Hi! We’re Libby and Elliot, a couple from Kent, England, who’ve recently swapped the UK drizzle for Sydney sunshine. Elliot’s working in business finance in Surry Hills, and I’m working in hospitality while interviewing for corporate roles in travel and tourism in the city (putting my degree to good use!).
I’m a classic Type A personality…organised to a fault, focused, and happiest when everything’s in its place. Elliot’s the calm to my busy brain, which keeps things nicely balanced. We actually met when I was managing a restaurant and he’d just started as a chef. We didn’t speak for weeks, he mostly just saw me power walking through the restaurant, hyper focused and probably slightly terrifying. Not long after we met, I went off to uni for three years, and somehow we managed to keep things going strong through all of that, so being here together a few years down the line feels like an even more exciting challenge and life change for us.
I’m completely obsessed with the beach! I’d go even when it was cold and rainy back in the UK and I’m happiest by the sea. I also adore dogs (especially whippets or anything a bit ridiculous with a long snoot), and I absolutely cannot wait to create a beautiful home where we can host dinners or movie nights and spend hours spotting kookaburras out of the window (I’m obsessed).
Right now we’re staying with Elliot’s family, who’ve very kindly put us up while we find our own place and I’m sure they’d confirm we make excellent houseguests: tidy, considerate, and always up for cooking dinner.
