Looking for a roommate for USYD 2026 Semester 2 ✈️
Target area: Rhodes/Glebe
I graduated from China University of Petroleum (East China), majoring in Architectural Design as an undergraduate and I will be switching to Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, for my two-year master’s program at USYD.
Personality-wise, I am more introverted, but I can be outgoing when the situation calls for it. I would describe myself as an INTP/INTJ type. I have a wide range of interests, including piano, symphonic music, highly rated films, classic AAA games, travelling, and so on. I would say I am a typical deep-thinking type of person.
I have no bad habits — I do not smoke or drink. I do have mild cleanliness standards, as I really do not want to sleep if my bedding does not feel fresh. That said, I am very tolerant of roommates. My general principle is: the cleaner, the better, but it is not a big issue if things are not perfectly clean, as long as the roommate is a nice person and the place is not extremely messy or dirty. Gender does not matter.
I am also a small gaming content creator with 24k followers. I mainly make videos about classic AAA games such as Final Fantasy VII, Elden Ring, Death Stranding, and Red Dead Redemption 2. My videos are mostly long-form and updated roughly once a month. I care a lot about quality, and my videos often receive more coins than likes, which probably says something about my perfectionist tendencies.
Related to this, I may occasionally need to do voice-over recording or livestreaming, but I will absolutely respect my roommate’s daily routine and living habits.
I chose Rhodes because I have relatively high standards for the living environment and am willing to sacrifice some commuting convenience for it. Housing there is generally reasonably priced and offers good value for money. The apartment I am currently considering is a 2-bedroom unit, and the Realestate details are shown in the pictures.
If we split the rent equally, it would be around 530–600 AUD per week per person. However, because there may be differences between the master bedroom and the second bedroom, a simple 50/50 split may not be the fairest arrangement. This can all be discussed later.
My current plan is to arrive in Sydney in early July, first stay somewhere temporarily for a short period, and spend about a week sorting out basic setup matters in Australia, such as SIM card, CommBank, USI, and so on. During that time, I will also visit Rhodes in person and inspect apartments, choosing a room with a suitable floor level and orientation.
Anyone interested in this plan is welcome to leave a comment or message me privately.
