🌿 About me
Hi! I’m Jeremy, 32, originally from Chile, although I’ve been living in Belgium for the past 5 years, where I completed both my professional degree and my Master’s. I’m now moving to Adelaide to start my PhD at the University of Adelaide, arriving on September 6th. 🎓🇦🇺
I’m a big fan of yoga and meditation, which I’ve been practising for over 10 years. 🧘♂️ I enjoy spending time with friends, discovering new places, going out for a coffee or a meal, and generally enjoying the outdoors. I can be quite social and outgoing, but I also really value quiet time and personal space — it depends on my mood! 😊
I’d describe myself as easy-going, respectful and communicative. I prefer to talk openly rather than make assumptions, and I really appreciate people who do the same. I’m not a fan of drama and always try to approach disagreements or feedback in a friendly and constructive way. I believe a good home comes from mutual respect, communication and understanding each other’s routines and boundaries. 🌱
I’m also quite house-proud. I currently share my own apartment in Belgium with my husband, so I’m used to taking care of a home and keeping shared spaces clean and tidy. I normally do a proper clean every week and appreciate living in a pleasant, well-kept environment. ✨
I’m a big lover of plants 🌿, so a home with some greenery would definitely be a plus. I also love bright, aesthetically pleasant spaces and, if possible, a nice view towards green areas would be amazing.
🏡 What I’m looking for
I’m looking for a private room, ideally with a private bathroom, although I’m definitely flexible and this is not a deal-breaker.
As my main university campus will be at Mawson Lakes, good access to public transport — especially a nearby train station or an easy connection to one — would be a big plus. 🚆
I’m looking for a long-term place, ideally for the duration of my PhD (around 3.5 years). My budget is around $250–400 per week, including bills.
I’ll initially be moving to Adelaide on my own, but my husband will hopefully join me after a few months. Because of this, I’d ideally love to find a place where there could be some flexibility for him to eventually move in as well. However, I’m also open to adapting to the circumstances and figuring things out along the way.
Most importantly, I’m looking for a friendly, respectful and communicative household where everyone can feel comfortable and at home. 😊
