I love spending time outdoors on weekends, or curling up with a good book or movie if the weather's not great. I'm keen to make Canberra my home, and am looking forward to discovering the best local cafes and restaurants. In terms of living, I'm used to sharing with others, I'm fairly tidy, pretty relaxed & friendly, happy to keep to myself, or catch up for a chat at the end of the day.

I'm 29 and work as an Architect. Original from Germany but lived in Sydney lately. Now I got a new job in Canberra and would like to move down by end of August/ beginning of September. I'd love to find a place with people which enjoy a chat, dinner and a glas of wine sometimes together. I'm also happy to team up. Where are the best areas to live? Cheers Jo

Hi :) I'm looking for a housemate to move in to my place from 1 August! It's a three bedroom townhouse, but it's only me in the place, the third room is used for guests and as a study. Once I have found someone to move in initally, we could discuss together the possibility of renting the third room. Both rooms are decent sized with built in wardrobes. The available room would fit a queen bed and desk. The place has reverse cycle aircon/heating and NBN internet and a nice backyard area that gets good sun. There is one garage space, parking out the front of the house and on the street. The house is close to bus stops, shops opposite the road, walking distance to the new shopping centre in Casey and a close drive to Gungahlin. The house is fully furnished except for the available room. I'm looking for someone fun and responsible to move in. I'd ike to find someone who is happy to hang out, share a drink or bond as housemates, but also who can respect privacy and boundaries. I'd also like someone who is clean and tidy, can clean up after themselves and help with the chores in the house.

One queen/king size bedroom (3.6m x 3.4m floor space) with built-in robe, and own separate bathroom. Another bedroom available to store additional furniture, or use as a separate study/sitting room. Three bedroom house, freshly painted, with main bedroom separated from other bedrooms with living spaces in between. Ducted gas heating; Transact cable internet wi-fi. Garage perfect for those frosty Canberra mornings. Covered rear deck; small, low maintenance garden (no work for housemate). Neat, tidy, quiet home - with music usually playing in the background (eclectic taste). Short walk to Dickson shopping centre (including Woolworths and the many restaurants), and two gyms (Flames and NextGen). Suit a mature, social, open-minded housemate. I prefer a sociable environment: a mate sharing a house, rather than a tenant. Sharing a drink and chat after work, the occasional meal, sitting down and watching the footy/TV/DVD together; not someone who spends every evening in their (bed)room. A fellow tennis/squash player or beach-goer would be great. Non-smoker requirement. Stable professional job who can pay rent on time. About me: 50, Public Servant. I walk to work most days (weather permitting), and keep regular hours. Non-smoker, and prefer quiet nights in or catching up with friends in a cafe/bar/restaurant rather than clubbing or partying. Love sports (prefer playing, but also watching) ... tennis, squash, soccer, netball. Enjoy beach (regular trips to the Coast on weekends in summer), cooking, theatre, reading, sci-fi movies/TV.
I’m Anny, and I’m a queer student and journalist. I'm really friendly, relaxed and open and I don't have any issues with partying or staying in - whichever you feel! I love art, writing, reading, playing games (board and otherwise) and talking fiction! I’m studying communication and journalism at UC. I'm down with everyone and with pets, and I hope you consider me for your place. I have one indoor cat, a friendly and house-trained ragdoll named Louis, and I would never live in a space which is not queer-friendly.
