We have one room free in our three bedroom place. It's a great little place on the top floor of a two-storey house. It's close to public transport (buses nearby, including the Maroon Glider) and only a 15 minute drive to the city! The room is carpeted and has a window and small shelves along one wall. It is unfurnished (the photos have furniture in the room but it is empty now). There would be room for a cat or a small inside dog (no fenced yard, unfortunately!). The bathroom is a good size with large shower, lots of storage, and a front load washing machine. The living room has a three seat sofa and armchair, dining table for two and a 40" Sony TV. Bardon is a beautiful suburb, well connected to the city with regular bus services. It's only $13 Uber to the CBD, so it's a great location for a night out. We have a large park within 250m, great running tracks along the creek and a cool cafe over the road. Would suit someone who is looking for a beautiful secure home close to the city. I have a strong preference for a normal person. You know; no crazy parties, no weird behaviour. Over the last four years I have had the good fortune to have a wonderful international student and then a professional woman. My ideal tenant would be long term, educated, interesting and easy to get along with. Might suit a uni student from the country, international student, single working person. I'm open to pets, but I have high expectations of behaviour. I wouldn't allow a loud or destructive dog . The downsides. The living room of the granny flat is partially overlooked by the upstairs entrance hall. Security is good, but the privacy of the living space isn't perfect. When I built it, I did a lot of work to minimise sound from upstairs with specialised insulation and more, but you would still know when I am home. All bills including high-speed cable internet included. Possible upsides: If you are new to Brisbane the kids and I would be happy to show you around our favourite places and help you get settled. I also have a spare old car that I would consider throwing into the deal. It looks awful but runs great. You wouldn't pick up a date in it, but it would be a great commuter.

Your room has a door that goes to the side of the house, so If you want to come straight to your room, through a separate entrance, without crossing the house, you can. About the routine: There are 4 people upstairs and we are like a family even though I live by myself downstairs. I like to hang out with them on the weekends and sometimes we do things together during the week. Bills are not included but they are really low as it will be split with another 5 people. About the area: Bardon is an amazing, quiet and leafy area. Close to nice coffee places at Paddington and not far from the city. There is a little market every weekend just 10 minutes walking from our place. There are few parks around and it is nice to go for short walks and just appreciate the area. Just 50m from our house there is a bus stop that takes you to the city. For groceries we have Ashgrove (10 minutes drive) - Aldi, Woolworhts and Coles. Toowong (5 minutes drive) - Coles or Paddington (5 minutes drive) Woolworths.

Close to the city and the hustle and bustle but also close to peace zones such as the botanical gardens and cemetery. The place is beautiful in a rustic sense, and is possibly owned by the possums and other wildlife calling the house and its surrounds home. The house can be loud as it is on a main road and next door to a 24 hour service station and the roof leaks in some areas if it sheets down, but that totally is overtaken by the amazing old school kitchen. In essence the place is old and falling apart slowly, but also endearing and aesthetic. The room on offer is small and has a large built in type cupboard but is otherwise unfurnished. I can provide a bed if needed.

An undercover car park also available, but you don't need a car as it's so close to everything! I work full time in I.T. so it's a nice quiet environment and I'm particular about a clean home.
