Hi there, I'm a professional female in my late twenties looking for someone to rent the spare room of my flat. The apartment is nice and spacious and gets lots of light. The bedroom offered has a large built in robe and access to a courtyard. The place has all modern conveniences such as washer/dryer, dishwasher (albeit a small one), and heated towel rails in the bathrooms. Its a five minute walk to Lonsdale Street, 15 minute walk to the city and close to transport, however a secure underground parking spot is included. There's also a small but lovely garden, which I'm kinda proud of. The place has NBN, Netflix and Stan and cleaners come once of fortnight, all of which is included in the rent. The room essentially has its own bathroom as the other bedroom has an ensuite, however this bathroom is also used by guests and I occasionally use the bath. Pretty flexible with furnishings. The place is pretty full already so not great if you have a tonne of stuff, however there is a small storage unit in the garage to store stuff in. Happy to discuss providing a bed/bedding if needed.

Position, position, position... its so hard to capture this wonderfully lovely place in my quick snapshot photos. I've been renting in Canberra for 6 years and THIS homely house is the best bang for my rental $$ than anywhere else I've rented in Canberra. Ive been here 2 years. On offer is a VERY LARGE bedroom overlooking the front porch, surrounded by native gardens. The house is a 1950's solid brick, with most of its original charm still intact, including original 50's kitchen with a wood stove, next to the more modern gas stove. Original 50s bathroom with a HUGE pale blue full size bath and a more modern shower. Unlike most other houses of similar age in Canberra, this place has been very well insulated (thanks to Kevin Rudd), it never gets hot in Summer, and has efficient central heating for the winter. There is loads of cupboard space in the bedrooms and even more in the cavernous hallway/ballroom. Being across the road from Lyneham Shops; with a Butcher, Bakery, A Candlestick-maker, IGA Supermarkert, The Front Cafe, Tilleys, a Post Office AND having a bus stop to ANU on the doorstep are huge benefits. Overall its a very spacious and homely house with loads of storage space, huge low maintenance rear garden with a productive vegetable patch and 4 chickens. There is also a secure 1.5 car garage, a handy easy access lockable bicycle shed, and a gardening shed for EVEN more storage if needed. If you'd like to see the place please send me a message here.
Fantastic location Large fully furnished room, with built in robes, desk and studio chair Internet and utilities included Close to Australian National University Bus stops located on streets front and back of house Directly across from Lyneham shops Post office, IGA, Hairdresser, Tilley's Restaurant/bar, Chemist, Doctor, Dentist, Book store and meeting place for chats and drinks just across the street Walking distance to Dickson Mall Central Heating and Air Conditioning Washing Machine and Dryer
Bills are shared amongst whole house, so electricity and Internet is cheap. House has a great atmosphere around the tenants so homesickness is kept at minimal. House is usually rented out to students attending the Academy of Interactive Entertainment and anyone is welcome. This house is perfect for people without rent history and are looking to move out of home for the first time.
Conveniently located just 1 min from the number 2 bus line (20min to city), 5 min walk from Hackett shops and 20 min walk to Dickson, the house is close to facilities without the bustle of the city. The house is also super close to the nature reserve, and has a beautiful native garden, so we are surrounded by wildlife. The room available is the master bedroom. It's a good size, with built in wardrobes, ceiling fan & floor heating.
Furnished room available for rent in a sunny relaxed older style and quirky house. Close to bus and shops. Housemates include an older professional, a 21 year old apprentice, plus small cute and friendly dogs. Large sunny backyard with herb/vegie patch and many lovely native birds. The house is relaxed but clean. The shower, bath and toilet are all separate which makes for easy sharing. I am respectful of privacy and personal space, and the house has two living spaces which is a bonus. I have shared with many undergraduate and post-graduate students over the years. Food and cooking is separate - and there is lots of space in kitchen cupboards and extra fridge. No smoking household. Rent includes internet/phone and household odds and ends. Electricity, gas and water are extra. (note that the advertised room is available from 28 February and a furnished spare room is available if a room is needed before then)
The property itself is a gem, perfect for students. Air conditioning, dishwasher, solar powered hot water so utilities are cheap. The property is in a quiet street, neighbours are really friendly and has its on community shops with IGA supermarket just a 2minute walk away incase you forget something when your out. Bus stop and routes are also located at the shops. If you like hiking, Mt Majura and Ainslie is in your backyard with plenty of great treks and scenery. This property is close to civic, a 5minite drive to Dickson shops and Braddon is always a bonus if you like going out to eat or shop. It's not far from university, 10minute drive to UC or you can bike to ANU. The room is a medium sized bedroom at $155/week + ultilities and internet access. It easily fits a queen and drawers. The house is mostly furnished, but can fit more if need and is a shed for storage if you have additional furniture. All you need to do is bring your bedroom and personal belongings.
One large queen bedroom (3.6m x 3.4m floor space), unfurnished, built-in robes, separate bathroom. Another bedroom available to store additional furniture, or use as a separate study/sitting room. Three bedroom house (main bedroom separated from other bedrooms); living spaces in between. Ducted gas heating. Transact cable internet wi-fi. Garage. Covered rear deck. Small, low maintenance garden (no work for housemate). Neat, tidy, quiet home - with music usually playing in the background (eclectic taste). Short walk to Dickson shopping centre (including Woolworths and the many restaurants), and two gyms (Flames and NextGen). Suit a mature, social, open-minded housemate. I prefer a sociable environment: a mate sharing a house, rather than a tenant. Sharing a drink and chat after work, the occasional meal, sitting down and watching the footy/TV/DVD together; not someone who spends every evening in their (bed)room. A fellow tennis/squash player or beach-goer would be great. Non-smoker requirement. Stable professional job who can pay rent on time. About me: 50, Public Servant. I walk to work most days (weather permitting), and keep regular hours. Non-smoker, and prefer quiet nights in or catching up with friends in a cafe/bar/restaurant rather than clubbing or partying. Love sports (prefer playing, but also watching) ... tennis, squash, soccer, netball. Enjoy beach (regular trips to the Coast on weekends in summer), cooking, theatre, reading, sci-fi movies/TV.
One bedroom with your own bathroom and toilet in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Available from late-March (negotiable). Includes: - Fully furnished apartment - Secure underground car park and locker space - Ducted heating and cooling - Gym - NBN internet Located in the heart of Barton and adjacent to the Parliamentary Triangle so just a short walk to nearby government departments and only a 3 minute walk to the Barton bus interchange. You'll be sharing the place with Chris. I'm a lawyer in mid-20's. Originally from Melbourne, I moved to Canberra two years ago. I'm an experienced housemate and I enjoy cooking, films and chilling out to some hip hop and jazz. I'm very clean and respectful of your personal space. I'll be working full time and studying part time so I'll be quiet and I expect someone who is considerate but I'm always keen for a chat/dinner/Seinfeld binge.
Up for grabs is this lovely unit which is centrally located in Barton. It is five minute's drive from Manuka shopping centre, 10min to the city, and there is a grocer and shops right next door. I'm regrettably leaving as I have decided to branch out and look for a sharehouse, but for those who want their own space, this is for you. I'm looking for someone to take over my lease or to start a new lease with the agency. My official move out date is the 11th of March, but I can do earlier if needed. The unit gets lots of natural light and has all the mod-cons. The rent is $400/week, with electricity included. NBN internet is connected and there is a gym in the complex. Unfortunately the flat will be unfurnished, but if someone makes a reasonable offer I might consider leaving my furniture in the flat. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested or have more questions! Text or email is preferred during working hours, but I'm happy to chat over the phone after 5. Be quick!
Just about to sign the lease for this property and am looking for a roomie to help with the rent. You'll pay directly to me, with the signing of a lease and paying of a bond optional. I'm tidy, domesticated, and respectful of privacy; traits to be shared by a potential roomie. The house itself if pretty cool, 3 bedder, timber floors and a decent back yard with veggie patch. Good neighbourhood, close to Dickson shops and a short bus ride to ANU.
Hi guys! Myself and Thea are looking for singles or a couple to join us in our new and spacious Kingston Foreshore 3 bedroom apartment. It is ideally located, close to the lake, parks, restaurants, cafes, gyms, and bars for all your social, exercise and 'romantic-walks-along-the-lake' needs, and is a 30 min walk / 10 min cycle along the lake to offices in the Parliamentary Triangle (say no to pay parking). All bedrooms are up for negotiation, however we are currently inhabiting the two smaller bedrooms, so someone taking the master with ensuite would be preferred. Rent for the whole apartment is $850/week not including bills, so we are pricing the master bedroom at around $300/week for singles or $350/week for a couple. The apartment is roughly 4 years old, is very clean and filled with natural light. The bedroom is unfurnished, however the living area and kitchen are furnished.
The property is in a quiet street opposite a reserve. All rooms have large windows and a view of the garden outside. The house is quiet, relaxing and very chilled out. The house has ducted heating and evaporative cooling in all rooms for winter/summer. The bedrooms are furnished with linen and towels are provided. The only house rules are that shoes are not to be worn inside the house, and to respect other people’s privacy and space. I do enjoy a chat with my house guests and to share a wine, cooking and meals. Happy to go walking and exercise together, or out socially! But I am also happy for housemates who want to keep to themselves. There is a large backyard and large vegetable garden if you are interested in growing your own food. Outdoor Storage space is also available as well as undercover space for parking bikes or motorbikes. A desk for study can be arranged if needed. The house is a short walk to local shops where there is a supermarket, chemist, cafe, take away, hairdresser, dentist and service station. It is also a short distance also to Bruce Stadium, the AIS and University Canberra (UC).
The house is pretty amazing, it feels like it's come off a set of Mad men, its a stupidly cool place to live. The house is fully furnished, has cork floors throughout, floor to ceiling windows around the whole back of the house that open onto a entertaining deck and backyard, timber paneling throughout and bedrooms are all queen size, bedrooms can be partly furnished if you need we can discuss. There is currently 2 boys and 1 girl and we are looking for another housemate, we enjoy each others company, eat a couple of times a week together, giggle a lot and respect each others space. Our household is a fun one!
