Farm cabins for rent – Noosa region Qld. We are looking for a SARBB - single, active, retired, baby boomer, to join our small self-sustainable community on a delightful 5 acres of organic farm and rainforest, 20 minutes north of Noosa, close to Lake Cootharaba. Each of the 7 comfortable newly built cabins offer a living space including ensuite and private patio. The communal areas consist of a grand Living Pavilion with breezeways and living and dining spaces, a winter room to dine and lounge with a fireplace, indoor/outdoor gas and wood fired kitchens, pantry room, tea/coffee kitchen, TV lounge, undercover car parking, a large work shed with a covered work area and a visitor’s suite. The position available is for a seedling gardener to grow our veggie and fruit tree seedlings in our covered nursery. hopefully you will be a keen gardener with some experience in growing seedlings. Ideally you will be single, active, retired and of baby boomer age (born 1946 to 1964), but these details are flexible for the right person. Some part time employment off site is acceptable. The other communal jobs of looking after the raised veggie garden and fruit trees, doing the communal shopping, preserving, drying and smoking our excess produce and looking after the small animals are already being carried out by folk who understand self-sustainability and enjoy a small farming community lifestyle. There is the opportunity and the encouragement to create small businesses onsite to generate a personal income if you so wish. Available is good internet via ADSL and TelstraTV, deep spring water, ample 240V "off the grid" solar power, 60m's of possum and bird proof raised veggie gardens, an enclosed and covered micro herb and seedlings nursery, an enclosed root veggie garden, 8 large herb pots, 60 fruit bearing trees and nine free range chooks. In exchange for a very reasonable rent, which includes access to all the produce grown on the farm, water, power, Wi-Fi and the house phone, you will be asked to spend three hours a day, Monday to Friday, doing your chosen job and helping the community achieve self-sustainability. The cabin available is the featured photo on the web page. It's 25sqm of living and sleeping areas, a separate ensuite and has a 20sqm roofed patio. The rent is $150/week. In front of the cabin can be seen the seedling nursery. There is also an additional community cost of $70/week which pays for all the communal essentials and all food not produced onsite. The house has approximately 9 acres of land. It has a creek and large pond as well as paddocks if you have a horse and your more than welcome to agist it with you. You have the option to create your own veggie patch as well as making the most of the outdoor space available. It is fully furnished and you have your own private room as well as access to the whole house and facilities as well as storage. The room has built in wardrobes or if you wish there is also an unfurnished room available. The house has quite a large open living area as well as decking area. If you want to agist your horse, it is an extra $35/week as well as full care available. The facilities for horses is one large shared paddock (7acres) as well as 2 single day yards. Looking for someone easy going that is neat, tidy, clean and quiet that likes dogs and horses. This house is not for parties and respecting everyones space is a must. It is located really close to Tewantin (12 minutes) so you will need your own transport. Driving into Noosa and the beach takes 15-20mins max. Surrounded by bush in a friendly neighbourhood, right beside the lake and the Noosa River, this small but comfortable home is where I have studied and lived for the past 16 years. I try to keep a minimalist open plan feel, with a welcoming kitchen. Solar power, air conditioning, outdoor area amongst gardens and good internet are among other pluses, as are the lovely bush and lake walks that start at the front gate. Smoking is allowed outside, but not inside, and while I love animals I am not accepting pets out of respect for my cat...plus the property is largely un-fenced. This house is quiet and relaxed but not far from town with possible parking on the front lawn. Your room has built in wardrobe, large window, ceiling fan and is close to the spacious bathroom. We have good internet but no television connection because, well, I just don't like it enough to be bothered :-) My son lives at the back of the property so it is just myself in the house, but we share the bathroom, which is kept very clean. I love to keep the place tidy as I feel better and think more clearly in uncluttered surroundings (heading back to uni end of Feb) There will be construction going on out in the backyard with landscaping and such, but this will not impact you greatly as a flatmate.

My house is close to public transport and a 10 minute stroll to Noosa river. Backs onto relaxing forest with lots of birdlife. Close to Noosa Leisure Centre and Library. It has 2 separate living areas and has a great outdoor area. The kitchen is large and well equipped, internet is fast and reliable.
The natural and peaceful environment on a large private property is really totally opposite to suburban living. Surrounded by the sounds of nature, fresh air and wildlife is what this property is about. And still so close to everything and the local shops at Cooroy. There is a relaxing pool, good Internet, good airflow, verandas and great views over valley.
