Cootharaba, Sunshine Coast

We have a cabin available for a Single, Active, Baby Boomer (born anywhere between the late 1940's and the late 1960's) who may be working full-time, part-time or retired.

The cabin of 36sqm, which is shown in the first six photos and renovated just 6 months ago, has a split system air conditioning unit, a large living space, offering a Smart TV, leather couch and work station, a walk-in dressing space with two large robes. The sleeping space offers a queen size bed, bedside tables and large dresser, a tiled ensuite of a shower, hand basin and toilet. The timber deck is partly roofed with a table and two chairs. There is a dog proof fence surrounding the cabin's front yard, running in to the orchard. It could be removed upon request.

The farm is a small community of seven folks who want to live in an environmentally friendly way set on a delightful 5 acres of organic farm and rain forest, 20 minutes north of Noosa, close to Lake Cootharaba and Boreen Point.

Four large cabins are for folks who want to live on the farm and three smaller cabins are for existing workers who look after the lawns, 60 fruit trees, two root veggie gardens and six chooks, maintain the communal Living Pavilion and care for the farm's infrastructure.

The communal areas consist of a tropical style Living Pavilion with breezeways and living and dining spaces, a winter lounge with a dining table, lounge and a fireplace, indoor/outdoor gas and wood fired kitchens, pantry room, tea/coffee kitchen, laundry, undercover car parking, a large, covered workspace, tool shed and storage shed.

Facilities included in your rent are; access to all the produce grown on the farm, Skylink internet with Netflix, Stan, Paramount+, deep spring water, ample 240V "off the grid" from a 16.5Kw solar system with a backup second system of 4.5Kw and a large 6.3Kw generator.

The farm has 60m's of possum and bird proof raised veggie garden, an enclosed and covered micro herb and seedlings nursery, two enclosed root veggie gardens, 60 fruit bearing trees, 100 tree bush tucker forest and six free range chooks.

You prepare your own meals and possibly sit at any of the dining tables to eat with others. There is plenty of individual shelving in the pantry and nominated shelves in the two fridges and a large chest freezer for your food.

There is also an additional community cost of $25/week which pays for all the communal essentials. There is no religious theme nor are we all strict vegetarians. The average stay is around 40 weeks. Some folk stay years. Smoking outdoors is acceptable.
