The studio has a stair case in it that is not in use, the top of the stairs have been sealed off. The backyard has views across the Wollongong escarpment, and across to Mt Oosley. Our suburb is quiet and friendly. A front loader washing machine, double burner stove, microwave and standing fridge/freezer are included with the studio. The furniture pictured is included if you would like to utilise it (double bed and mattress, bedside table, tall boy, table and four chairs, desk, reclining lounge, filing cabinet, TV). The studio is located on the lower level of our house. We live upstairs from the studio. We are a friendly family who are open to the occasional chat but will also respect your privacy and ask that you respect ours also. You have a separate entrance and washing line to us. We are looking for someone who is working or studying and will be reliable with paying rent. We are a 14 minute drive from Wollongong university and a 15 minute walk to Unanderra train station. Our ideal housemates: Someone chill and who enjoys living in a happy space. Must be able to pay rent on time and keep common areas tidy; this is a newly renovated house so we want to keep it nice! We also have a boat and love wakeboarding so if you're into coming out with us thats a bonus! We are looking for a quiet person (preferably female) to rent our renovated bright and airy granny flat. Surrounded by a large deck and leafy trees, with amazing views of Mt Kembla. The granny flat is situated at the back of the property underneath the main house where we* live (*My husband, myself and our very active toddler). The bedroom can fit a double sized bed and a single lounge chair or desk. Currently, there is a fold out bed (we can get a bed if you need one). The bedroom has access to the bathroom and a large walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom has a large shower with a waterfall shower head, and a brand new toilet and vanity. The living area has a 4-person dining table with chairs, and a single and double lounge chair. The kitchen contains a gas stove top, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, small wooden preparation island and a refrigerator. Basic crockery, cookware and cutlery will be provided. There are two ceiling fans, however, no air conditioner. There is a laundromat nearby, as there is no access to a laundry from the granny flat. There is a bus stop nearby and UOW is a short drive. The yard is shared and currently needs work. To enter the granny flat you need to walk down quite a few stairs. We have a beautiful cat named DeeDee, who is gentle and sleeps most of the day. We will not accept smokers or those with dogs. We are open to having someone over summer for less than six months.

We both studied at the University of Wollongong and made the short commute via bus. We were originally a bit hesitant to live off of campus being in a new country but quickly found we made the right decision. The bus stop to get to uni is just a short walk from the cabin which makes the trip to uni around 20 minutes or less. A major benefit of the cabin was how much cheaper it is to stay there with two people versus staying on campus in the dorms. The quaint cabin was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed. Mark and Kelly encouraged us to use their downstairs living space as a study area. This came in so handy when we didn’t want to take a bus to the library. They also graciously welcomed us into their kitchen multiple times per week to utilize their full sized kitchen when the weather didn’t allow for us to BBQ outside on our private deck. Mark and Kelly are such amazing hosts going above and beyond anything we could have ever hoped for. In a few short months they have turned into lifelong friends. Simply follow the footpath up to the backyard, your private entry is via the back gate (you will have to navigate a number of steps to get to the cabin as the cabin is significantly above street level). Once you've arrived and settled in, sit back and relax on your own private deck amongst the trees. We have travelled extensively and know what we do and don't like about accommodation we have previously stayed in.
