Want to live in a clean apartment with one other person for a good price? I’m renting out a partly furnished (minus a bed) room in my functional little unit at Georgetown. The bathroom (with a bath) was renovated last year and the kitchen is in good condition with a dishwasher. I also have a reverse cycle air conditioner. The apartment is done in a range of purples which is actually kinda cool as it’s not your average beige rental. The bedrooms get the morning sun and a balcony off the lounge room gets the afternoon sun, which my herbs love. There are loads of trees around the building which gives a rare green element to apartment living and it feels private despite being close to the Georgetown shops. The room has some clothes storage and a bedside table but you will need your own bed. There is not very much storage in general in the apartment so it might not be right for someone who has a lot of stuff. The location can’t be beaten (in my opinion). It’s right next to the Georgetown main strip which has a bakery, a fruit shop, a butcher, a bottle shop, a café, 3 hairdressers and a Chinese restaurant. Oh and Waratah Shopping Village (and the 24 hour K-Mart) is a five-minute walk. There are also great transport options. It is a less than 10-minute drive to the uni and it’s about 15 minutes in the other direction to get into the city. There is also loads of on-street parking available all the time. If you don’t have a car, a bus stop is out the front and Waratah train station is a 10-minute walk away.
