ABOUT THE HOUSEMATES: - Currently 3 other males living in the main house, one in the granny flat outside. 2 are set to move out, however are from Kenya and Australia. The housemate staying works and attends uni and is very quiet. Housemate in the granny flat works/studies. All young, in their 20s. - You must be conservative; cleaning up after yourself and contributing to household items; housemates contribute around $5 each and this is used for things like washing detergent, bin bags etc. ABOUT STUDENT ROOMS - The room is offered by Student Rooms (SR), and their office is located in the city. They manage the properties, decide the suitability of tenants in each home and attend to any issues regarding the house (maintenance), cleaning, and even personal issues that may arise with other housemates. - International-student friendly. - There is a 'Submit a request" option on the website should you ever need to contact SR. (Needing new pots/pans, light bulbs, questions etc). Alternatively, you would call them. - SR host student events; paint ball for example, or semester parties with free food and drink, as well as a $500 cash draw. RENT DETAILS: - $185 a week, $370 per fortnight. - Rent covers all bills and internet, excluding electricity. - The last winter bill was $184, and the last summer bill was $45. Per person. PROCESS: - Come and see the house, - Decide if you want it, - I get you in contact with Student Rooms, - You will go and meet them in their office in the city, - Paperwork for financials/internet: You pay 2 weeks rent in advance, 4 weeks bond (HousingSA bonds/rent in advance forms accepted), - Around 3 days needed for me to clean/move out, - I leave the keys with the landlord, - You move in. As I am breaking a lease, the room must be filled urgently. I am leaving interstate to care for family.
The room for rent is my bedroom, as I am moving across the city for work. It's a great room - a very large main bedroom, with a huge walk-in robe and private ensuite bathroom. It's an amazing house - 4 bedrooms (one main, and then three others which are all the same size), a large living area, updated bathroom, modern kitchen with dishwasher. The backyard is large with a pergola/entertaining area, and a whole bunch of fruit trees. There's also a large garage out the back for extra storage. Cars can be kept off the street in a garage. Location is fantastic - within walking distance of the city. The rent of $195 p/w doesn't include bills, but they're shared (including internet etc) - between four of us, they haven't been too extreme! Main house rules: my housies are not looking for someone who is a crazy party person, but are all sociable people. They enjoy cooking and having friends round for dinner etc. Everyone is pretty relaxed but it's important that the place is kept neat and tidy (no one is nuts about cleaning, but mouldy plates in the sink is definitely not a good thing...) Rent etc is always paid promptly. Let me know if you have any other questions! You will need to be approved by the landlord but there shouldn't be any issues with that, I don't think.
