This share house is one of the closest to UQ. Literally a 2 minute walk to Michie building in one direction, and 2 minutes to the IGA, ATM and a plethora of takeaway restaurants in the other. A 5 minute walk to the engineering building as well (I timed it). Unlike the other houses in this price range, we boast ample space and convenience you just can't beat. The unique split level layout allows 3 people to reside on each level, and the middle is dedicated living area. Even though there will be 5 other people in the house (total 6 single rooms), it doesn't feel crowded at all. There are 3 people to each bathroom (one on each level) and 2 fridges and a freezer to share. The kitchen is large and has a fantastic gas stove and plenty of bench space. A laundry is included as well with a washing machine and clothesline. We have a lovely front deck and a cute back patio to chill on. The living room is really large and has plenty of space to do your own thing and move stuff around. Our landlords are very respectable and nice, so easy to get along with or communicate any issues about the house. Your room: Is on it's own level with only one other housemate down there. There is a communal area and access to a balcony on that level. Additionally there is a bathroom and basin down there that you will only share with one person. The room you will be in currently has a double bed, bedside table, desk and bookshelf. There is also built in wardrobes. The room can come furnished, or I can take the furniture out, up to you. There is also the option of me putting the original single bed back in the room if you prefer a smaller bed. Also just so you know you will be subletting the room from me, so no need to sign a lease or pay bond or anything. The lease ends in January, so there will be an option to sign the lease for next year if you wanted to stay on a longer term basis. The house: It's a beautiful old Queenslander. There are 4 levels so even though there are a few housemates there is plenty of room to escape if you need some alone time, but also a huge communal living area to relax and hang out in. In this communal area there is a large tv that has netflix on it so no need for a netflix account anymore. There are two large bathrooms with showers in the house so you'd only be sharing a bathroom with at max 2 people. But because there is a toilet and with sink on every level, rarely are people waiting around to use the bathroom. This cute little townhouse is 2km away from UQ and 1.2km from Toowong Village, ideal for UQ students. There is plenty of natural light, and we are a short walk away from a dog park for your cuddle fix. All rooms are air-conditioned and your room is fully furnished with a double bed, desk, and fan. If you have your own, we can move the furniture into the garage. Hey, by the way, we have a garage directly underneath the unit. There is unlimited internet paid monthly, and we rent our refrigerator and washing machine (comes to about $28/week total). Appliance rental is included in the rent but is paid for until November 1. There is also a brand new washing machine which was provided to us by the landlords, which is honestly such a godsend. Electricity and gas are paid separately every quarter. Sofia and I just moved in at the beginning of September, the first bill should come by November so we'll adjust accordingly. The Internet is $90/month (split 3 ways), unlimited and super fast. Your room is the second largest. Closet space is minimal, but there is plenty of room for a tall boy or dresser. You will be sharing a bathroom with Sofia. Unfortunately, we can't have pets on this property. The owners will not allow them, and I am severely allergic to dog and cat hair. If your last place had a pet, please be considerate and make sure your belongings have little to no hair on them, as I very easily react to dander, especially in closed spaces. No smokers, please!
