Hi there! I am listing a room in my house in Thornbury. :) The house is fully furnished except for your bedroom! All of the bedrooms and the two main bathrooms are upstairs, while everything else is downstairs. There is a lovely TV area, a mindfulness room/sitting room, a large kitchen and dining area, a back courtyard and small garden, laundry facilities, a downstairs bathroom and plenty of storage! There is a garage that I use that also contains the clothes dryer as well as other bits and pieces, while the third bedroom in the house is for when family and friends come to stay (I'm originally from Brisbane!), so it is intended to be used purely as a guest bedroom. When visiting, the guests may need to use your bathroom, but I tend to only have visitors every couple of months. :) The entire house is air conditioned, and both your bedroom and the spare bedroom have BRILLIANT electric wall heaters. Unfortunately, this house is a pet free zone :(. Things like the electricity and internet are paid separately. The internet will be about $46/month (that will change as I intend to change plans/the NBN is currently being installed in the area), and electricity is paid monthly. There is no gas that you will pay for - it is covered by the Body Corporate. All heating is electric. The house is really close to public transport. The 251 and 250 buses are about a 2 minute walk away, the 86 tram is an easy 15 minute walk away and Croxton Station (South Morang line) is a 20 minute walk, or an easy cycle or 5 minute car ride away. :) High Street is a 15 minute walk away, and Welcome to Thornbury is really close by, so it's a great spot for weekend entertainment! There's always something happening on High Street, and failing that, the train or the tram will take you straight into the city, or the tram can take you right into the heart of Fitzroy and Brunswick. :) There's also a lovely cafe just around the corner from the house called Jerry Joy (does BRILLIANT coffee), and there are heaps of schools and kindergartens in the area, meaning that it feels really safe, super family friendly. If you're after organic food, Terra Madre is only a quick tram ride away. Otherwise, there's a Coles and Woolworths an easy 5 minute drive away for either (or public transport options, or you could walk!)! There are also some beautiful walking tracks in Thornbury and I often find myself walking the Merri Creek Trail too - it's not far at all. Off-street parking is completely accessible and really easy as well. :) There's always a heap of spots available.
Sadly our housemate is leaving us to take on the world/get a taste of solo living, so we are looking for a new addition to our Thornbury apartment. The apartment is in a small block with the balcony overlooking High Street. The 86 is just out the front and the train station is a 5 min walk down the road. We are super close to Coles, Woolworths and come nice cafes and bars - The Croxton and Welcome to Thorbury are just down the road. Super sweet little 2 bdr unit, living with just me, in THE BEST location in Thornbury! Nestled between High and Victoria streets, Penders park and Jerry's cafe, it really is the perfect spot. The unit is 80's-era, but has been well maintained so although it's not shiney-new, it's clean, well lit and has everything you need. There's a decent-sized courtyard out the back, a great shed and a teeny little garden out the front (which has been given approval for a veggie patch, I just haven't got around to it!). Your room is the larger of the two and beautifully lit with natural light. It's spacious and has masses of storage room, floor-to-ceiling mirrors on the sliding cupboard doors and an almost-floor-to-ceiling window looking onto the little front garden with mini fairy tree. The house comes fully furnished (except your room) but can totally make way for your stuff if you have things to bring. I'm an aesthetically-orientated person (the ambiance of a place matters to me) and would like to keep the vibe simplistic, clean, warm and inviting. The room is available as of now. It's a quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours and lots of kids on our street. The fireplace is super beautiful and can be used for storage, however, so I think they are both as equally desirable! *About the Dogs* Evie is a beautiful 5 year old rescue staffy x kelpie who I have owned for 4 years now. She loves to always be around her humans, and will want to snuggle with you any chance she can get. Lola is also 5 years old and is a West Highland Terrier x Poodle who I have owned since she was a little pup. She is very loyal, upbeat and affectionate and takes great pleasure in announcing when someone is at the front door :). Lola is Evie’s rock, and the two dogs are pretty inseparable. They do literally everything together. They’re cute as all hell. A Woolworths less than 100m and tram running right out front. Super great if you rely on public transport. Route 86 directly into the city and we're between Thornbury and Bell St train stations. Lovely cafe Little Henri on the corner as well as about 3 gyms within 1km of the building. 5-10 minute drive to Northland which is handy. WIth easy public transport access as well. As for the apartment itself... we've got a pretty nice setup with good size balcony and kitchen. Washer/dryer in the bathroom and plenty of storage around. One room up for grabs, decent size with a built in robe. We have one registered car park with visitor parking in the building as well. I drive and so does my current housemate and we've had no drama using the visitor spots and our own as well. Many people do the same in this building. Your room is a huge room (14ft X 10ft) with wooden flooring which can easily fit in a queen bed plus study table and any small furniture. You will have a seperate bathroom with vanity and toilet but the shower area we might have to share since there is only 1 shower. Since I have also newly moved to the apartment I'm in the process of furnishing it, you are welcome to bring your own furniture as well and we can make it a cozy little place for everyone to enjoy. A short walk to Northcote train station and 86 and 11 trams, the cafes and bars of High Street, and Northcote Plaza. I've thought about ordering ubereats and ended up just making the order over the phone and walking to pick it up, it's that close. The Northcote Social Club is practically an extension to the living room. This is an excellent location. You'll enjoy living here.

Fantastic gas ducted heating in all of the rooms, and air conditioning in living areas. Courtyard at the rear of the house, which gets the lovely afternoon sun! Less than a 10 minute walk up to High Street, Northcote. Buses and trains are close by.

The house is bright and has good heating and cooling, a nice little outdoor area, open plan kitchen dining and feels spacious. The rooms are also biggish with BIR. I'm open to living with cats or a relaxed dog, there is currently a friendly chihuahua living here and he loves people and animals and is house trained.
