Our lovely three bedroom townhouse is situated just 2 minutes from the nearest bus stop and 10 minutes from the light rail, which takes you directly to the city. The flat is very light and spacious. It's within a quiet complex which has a nice communal garden. We are right in the centre of Barton and close to lots of good bars and cafes . The Barton grocer is about 5 mins away and it's about a 15 min walk to the Kingston shops/foreshore. The bedroom has a good sized wardrobe and a nice view. There is a double bed mattress available if you would like to use that. The bathroom is shared. It is quite large with a separate bath and lots of storage. There is a giant water heater so no issues with cold showers :) The living room has floor to ceiling windows out onto the balcony which is nice and leafy. The communal areas of the flat are pretty much fully furnished, but I'm happy to try and make room if you would like to bring anything along. There is a smart tv and happy to share a Netflix account The kitchen is a good size and I have all the basics; appliances, dishes etc. and there is a dishwasher. I just don't have a microwave but if you want to bring one that would be fine. Separate laundry w storage, washer and dryer. There is no air conditioning but the apartment stays pretty cool and we were fine last summer just occasionally using fans. There are wall heaters in the living room/bedrooms.
We love this house, from the ridiculous fireplace to the noisey dishwasher. We are close to the light rail, a very homey cafe and also to woolies. Farmers markets are minutes away, and we have compost and a worm farm (closet hippies, be warned). There are multiple living rooms, multiple bathrooms and door you can close to keep noise contained. Some other awesome features include: continuous hot water, spa bath, brand new oven, many houseplants, and central heating.
The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom place - main with ensuite - separate living and dining, decent sized kitchen with modern appliances, paved area out the back door under a pergola and well established gardens (including a mulberry and fig tree and a vege patch). There's a double carport available, a shed/garage and a studio out the back – currently used for bikes and furniture overflow. AC in the dining and kitchen, which can also cool the lounge. We also have three chooks, which are laying a plenty of eggs. The room is large enough to fit a queen bed with space all around (3.5x3.5m) and has a large built-in, but otherwise unfurnished. The room used to rented out to boarders (20+ years ago), so it has a lock on the door and another door that opens into the back yard. The shared spaces are furnished - couch, dining table, cabinets, fridge. There is room for some more stuff. If you've got your own furniture/appliances, we are happy to shuffle stuff around to make things work. There's also a bit of storage space available for overflow. The garden will need a bit of attention, mostly watering so it doesn't die, mowing and oppressing the weeds. The owner will organise any of the more serious gardening. Ideally, we'd like a housemate that the gardening thing appeals to, so that helping with the maintenance is not so much of a chore. The place stays pretty clean and tidy most of the time. We are looking for someone who can clean up after themselves without needing a reminder to do so. We're generally pretty quite, with the occasional board game night or dinner together. Our home is a 4-bed brick home. We've converted 1 bedroom into an Arts'Crafts/library space. Our back balcony is large enough for Sunday brunches and barbecues, overlooking a large, overgrown garden which we're trying to rehabilitate with a worm farm & compost heap. Our home gets plenty of sun & has its share of fruit trees. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, gas induction heating throughout & winter curtains. The room is fully-furnished, with built-in wardrobes, mini-fridge, fan and its own oil heater. We don't mind "untidy" but definitely err on the side of "clean" & appreciate the same in a flatmate.
Room for sublet over the summer. Beautiful house opposite park and wetlands in Dickson. Short ride to Dickson shops/pool and the city. We have an epic sunny deck with a couch to catch arvo sun and small scruffy dog named Cruiser (super friendly and relaxed).
The spaciousness is the strength of the property. The kitchen, lounge room, and eating space are large well maintained. We have a large backyard with a shed (with a pool table and piano) and a terrace with a fire pit. The bathroom and shower is shared but is always well maintained. The room available is small but comes with plenty of storage space and an extra room that can be used as a study.
The house is in a great location: multiple bus stops around the corner, tram 10 minutes walk, ANU 20-15 minute bike ride. Dickson shops, including Woolworths is a five minute walk, also very close to Dickson playing fields and Mount Ainslie reserve. Very close to Mount Majura reserve . great for bush walking or mountain biking. there are two very well behaved dogs here who spend most of their time outside or on the back of my ute. lovely quiet suburb, yet still close to the city and ANU.
