Hey. We're looking for a fourth housemate to move into our large 4 bedroom sharehouse in Downer. The room itself is medium-large and comes with a wardrobe and some big floor to ceiling windows. You’ll share a wall with the master bedroom. The other 2 bedrooms and the main bathroom are on the other side of the living area. The house has some huge communal areas, the kitchen opens onto the living/dining area which is all open plan and has timber floorboards throughout. This wonderful one storey house is dog-friendly, with views of Mt Majura and Mt Ainslie, and only 2 minutes to Dickson shops, 12 minutes to Civic, and 18 to Westfield Belconnen (if you drive really slowly.) Your room: Sunny and spacious, with large sliding doors onto the back deck. Has a built in ducted heating and an enormous triple wardrobe with space for hanging, and a lot of shelving. Your room is across the hall from a large bathroom including a large mirror, shower/bath and toilet, which you will be sharing with one other very tidy female. The room is very private from the other bedrooms, and we find with our current tenant that we barely cross paths! Your room comes un-furnished, so you have complete autonomy over your own decorating! The House: 4 bedrooms, and including you, 3 will be occupied. One small single room is left empty - currently a storage space - however could be used as a study for the new tenant, or a spare room for guests. Annie and Amy live down the far end of the house, which is semi-partitioned off with a door. Being an established share-house, the house comes complete with a washing machine, dishwasher and new oven, and gas stovetop, as well as fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave and all dishware/kitchen furnishings as well (plenty of room to accomodate another's things however!) We have also furnished the rest of the living space with a dining table & chairs, stools, and the occasional piece of art. We don't currently have a TV or couch (as neither of us are home enough to enjoy it!) but if you have these items, you'd be welcome to put them into the living room :) Outside: Off-street parking and the car-port is available for the renter of this room. We have a small insulated granny flat outside, which is currently used as storage, and there is MORE than enough room for a third persons things. DOG: If you're bringing a doggo into the house, they must be housetrained, and be cool with getting an enormous amount of attention, cuddles, and walks up Mt Majura from the current tenants. The mirrored-wardrobe has plenty of hanging space for your clothes and, If needed, there is also a hall cupboard and further space in the garage for storing personal items. The dimensions are 3m x 3.1m. House: The townhouse is huge - its four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an additional powder room are split across two levels. There is also a big backyard with lots of fruit trees, a big organic veggie garden, a garage and bike shed, as well as a large front garden. About the area: Mount Ainslie is behind our house and you can walk up it via a ridge that also runs along in front of the house, with lots of pretty birds and kangaroos. We are in between Dickson and Ainslie shops (a 5 min ride either direction, or you can take the bus), and there’s a bus that goes to the city/ANU directly opposite our house. Otherwise, the bike path is just a few metres from our house, is a pretty ride through the wetlands and takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Civic. The suburb has nice wide streets and is a relaxing haven from the city, while also feeling very close to everything.

We've secured the lease for a beautiful two bedroom terrace on a leafy street in Dickson. It's just a short stroll to the Dickson shops or Northbourne Avenue - which has loads of buses and the future light rail! The place is brand new and has two levels. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the upper and kitchen and living on ground level. The place will basically be furnished except for your room which isn't massive but it definitely has room for a queen bed. Also - you would have your own bathroom! Move in date can be somewhat flexible.
The town house is in a good location. There's a bus stop right out the front that goes to Civic and to the Dickson shops. There's also a little corner store and cafe across the street. The block of town houses we are in is also starting up a community veggie garden. The neighbourhood is also pretty quiet. Everyone in the house usually just does there own thing, and a lot of the time our different scheduling means we don't even see each other some days. But we do enjoy catching up and having a meal together etc.
