About the property

We’re about to move into a lovely three-bedroom house in Flinders Park, in a great location close to the Torrens River, public transport, and the city. The house is spacious and has evaporative air-conditioning throughout.

The available bedroom is unfurnished, so the new flatmate will need their own bed, clothes storage, and furnishings. All other appliances and homewares are provided. Unlimited internet is available and is included in the rent amount. Water, electricity and gas bills are not included in the cost of rent and are shared quarterly.

The property photos were taken before we moved in, and the carpet in the living areas has been replaced with floorboards. We’ve also included photos of our previous home to give a sense of how we like to set up and live in a space.

Dibya and I are the leaseholders, and the third flatmate will be a sub-tenant. We have the appropriate sub-tenant agreements which we will provide to the property owner, so everything is fully legitimate. The arrangement starts with a 90-day trial period, with the option to move to a periodic agreement if it’s a good fit.

We keep the house clean but have a relaxed and fair approach to housework. We divide chores between the three of us — with one person who does the bathroom/toilet, another does floors, and another does dusting and outside maintenance once a fortnight, over the weekend.

I have two elderly cats, Mia and Monty, who are my fur-babies. For this reason, no additional cats or dogs are suitable for the home.

About the flatmates

My name is Hannah (she/her) and I’ve been living with Dibya (she/her) for the past two years. We’re currently moving from our previous rental in Woodville South into a new home in Flinders Park.

I’m in my early 40s and recently completed my Undergraduate and Honours degrees in Environmental Policy and Management at the University of Adelaide. After working for the Australian Greens, I’m now looking for my next role in my field, either locally or remotely. I’m an animal lover and vegetarian (though my flatmates don’t need to be), and I like beach runs in the mornings and catching up with friends on weekends. I occasionally listen to grunge/indie music in the shed once or twice a week. The house is large enough that it’s barely audible inside, and I’m always mindful of noise.

Dibya is in her early 30s and will be starting Nursing studies next year, alongside working as a Personal Care Worker at an elderly home. She’s also an animal lover and enjoys spending time with friends and her Nepalese community, when her busy schedule allows.

We’re both quiet, respectful, and fairly independent at home, and tend to spend most of our time in our rooms. We rarely have people over and usually prefer to go out to see friends instead. If anyone does come over, we always give each other a heads-up and ask the same courtesy in return.

We value a peaceful, respectful, and harmonious home. We mostly go about our own business, but we’re also happy to have the occasional catch-up. We’re looking for a third female flatmate who is similar to us, in that they are kind, considerate, clean, easy-going, and self-reliant.

If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to send us a message 🙂
