About the property
The house is beautiful and light-filled, with large north-facing front windows, a spa bath, and a huge back and front yard (we are on 800 square metres!). There is a detached garage which we use for arts and crafts/music/hanging out (especially in summer) and two veggie patches behind the garage. All common areas are quite big, especially the kitchen, with storage aplenty, and laid out in a cool square so everyone can cook at the same time no worries.
All common areas will be relatively furnished, with a TV, couches, and kitchen needs already sorted.
In terms of bills, we pay $28 each a month for WiFi, water quarterly (around $60 each), and electricity, however the electricity bill is usually very low (or zero) due to our solar panels and battery. We have no gas connection (hot water and stove are electric). The property meets minimum energy efficiency standards.
The location is great -- a 5 minute drive to Belconnen, 15 minutes into the city, and 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk to Kippax shops (which has a Woolies). There is easy access to the R2 (to the city/Fyshwick) from Kippax or the 45 (to Belconnen) at the end of the street.

About the flatmates
You will be living with Is, 23, and her sausage dog, Chorizo. Chorizo puts up a hard front but she secretly wants you to be her best friend in the world and will find her way into your blanket/jumper. Is is one of the coolest people I know, into art, music, and exploring the outdoors. She is very clean and an experienced share-houser. She works full time in aged care.
Myself and our other housemate are both moving interstate. I'm really going to miss this house, but I just graduated from uni and am moving back to my hometown (Adelaide!!). I've lived in this Higgins house for a year and a half and it has been the best share house (in terms of the property, the price, and the occasional dealing with the real estate company) that I have lived in.
