About the property

It's a modern 2-bedroom apartment on the penthouse level of a fairly new building in the Hobart CBD, designed with a 9-star rating (for low energy bills) and great views.

There's also NBN fibre to the premises for great Internet; Netflix access.

The apartment has a large private terrace/balcony that's north facing and has lines of sight across the city.

It's a very short walk to the state library, Woolworths supermarket, Myer, pubs and clubs, the Hanging Garden, the Royal Hobart Hospital, The University Business School and almost anything else you'd need to live day to day. To the east it's a short ten minute walk the water and Salamanca Place.

THE BUILDING
The Commons building is its own community; and apartment 602 shares facilities and features such as:

1) on the rooftop, shared garden space and a veggie patch, shared laundry, clothes dryers; clotheslines; a multipurpose room for yoga or social events on the rooftop, all free to use.

2) in the basement there are shared e-cars and an area for bicycles. If you need to know anything about the details, please send me a msg.

THE BEDROOM
The available bedroom is in a private area of the building with an opening window facing a light well. The available bedroom has built-in robes and shelves, and a Queen size bed.

No tobacco smokers (non-negotiable). Flatmates need to be tidy (it surely goes without saying...) I'd prefer someone aged within a range from 25 to 45 yrs, but that's not 100% essential for the right people. If you're LGBTQ or straight it doesn't matter either way, there's no preference.

Sharing a meal sometimes is a good thing to do, so that's a preference. People who keep in shape are also on the preference list; but it's not a long list. Positive people are definitely an advantage - everywhere, not just sharing an apartment :)

AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION FROM 23 FEB.
Existing tenant is there up to and including Sunday 22 Feb.

PARKING
If you have a vehicle you'll need to find separate private parking nearby. This isn't available on site but there are options within walking distance across the city.

* Footnote: The apartment is a quiet place and space, not a party venue. The place is very quiet by 10 pm each night, especially during weekdays.

About the flatmates

I'm a tertiary educated professional. I love life. I enjoy being social as well as reading and being creative on my own. Most of my friends in Hobart are in their 20s, 30s and 40s but some are older as well. I've lived in Hobart since 2015. I started here by managing a large project for MONA.

Before saying anything else, I'll describe the place: it has modern clean lines, hydronic heating, light-filled spaces, a large private terrace, and also a communal rooftop garden area. As a bonus, for everyone in the building there are shared electric-cars and bike spaces in the basement with access onto Watchorn St. The people in each floor of the building are generally pretty quiet and polite. Most are professional people. Many work in the health industry or government sectors.

There's 1 bedroom available. $315 per week

Internet NBN costs are separate, above and beyond the weekly rent.

The penthouse has 2 bedrooms. I'm in one of them. It's very close to the RHH and UTAS buildings in the city and a number of gyms. Every Sunday on the street below there's a large farmer's market with local produce. This is a CBD apartment. I'm keen to show it to you: if you meet the criteria listed.

INSPECTIONS
For inspections, I generally need a minimum of 8 hrs notice - due to my work commitments - and if possible I'd prefer at least 48 hrs notice to arrange an inspection and walk through. I prefer to meet potential flat mates face to face rather than online.

More about me: I'm into literature, architecture, business models, creative projects, IT and AI development, travelling, kayaking, the wild, and a good chat with insights from others. I also perform stand-up comedy around Hobart and other places. (It's hard to describe unless you see it.) I swim and go to the gym to keep in shape. I'd describe myself as mainly quiet; but I can also hold a conversation for hours, and I have a thirst for knowledge. I enjoy sharing a meal and Netflix, board games, cards, and going to some of the live events on offer around Hobart.

I'd prefer people who were looking for a quiet space.
