About the flatmates

We’re a quiet, mature bunch in our 30s+ who love a good shared dinner, early nights, and spending time outdoors. Our household is calm and tidy — most of us are in bed by 10pm to rest up for work or weekend adventures.

When we’re not working full time, you’ll probably find us out surfing, hiking, climbing, camping, gardening, or doing something active. We value connection and community — especially over shared meals or outdoor missions — but also respect each other’s space and quiet time.

A bit about us:

Knut – A chill PhD student from Germany who loves cooking, gardening, and drumming. Easy-going and kind — but get him talking about the ocean or water conservation and he absolutely lights up.

James – A Tassie born and bred electrician who loves hiking, getting stuck into a good project, and recently dipping in the ocean. Easy to chat to and often up for a quick yarn when he’s coming and going, otherwise you’ll find him tucked away watching the latest good TV series.

Illy (me) – A barista hobby junkie. My latest obsession is surfing, but I’m also into hiking, climbing, baking, gardening, and camping. I love community and organising housemate dinners. I work full time and love a peaceful home, but also value creativity, connection, and nature.

For now, it’s just the 3 of us, but Sandra - Knut’s girlfriend - will be joining the household later in the year

Who we’re looking for:

We’re hoping to find a mature, tidy, and respectful person who’s in a similar stage of life and values a calm, peaceful home.

Someone who enjoys the outdoors, has their own interests and routines, and would be keen for the occasional shared dinner, surf, hike, or adventure.

More than just a housemate, we’re looking for someone who’s open to building real connection - sharing meals, conversations, and everyday life together - while still respecting each other’s space, boundaries, and quiet time. We value kindness, communication, and consideration, and hope to find someone who feels the same.

We are looking for someone to stay long-term (12+ months) and be part of a stable, supportive home where everyone feels comfortable and at ease.

Sorry no pets.

If that sounds like you, please get in touch and tell us a bit about yourself:

What are you passionate about?

What do you do?

How old are you?

What do you like doing in your spare time?

Are you looking for long-term accommodation (12+ months)?

Note: We won’t respond to messages that don’t include some info about who you are — we’re not just looking for a housemate, but a friend who will fit the home vibe too.

🍵 If this sounds like you, get in touch! We’d love to meet up for a cup of tea or coffee.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
