About the property

A welcoming home with room to breathe and unwind 🌳 This older-style house has lots of character, including textured glass panelling that brings in beautiful natural light. It’s mostly furnished, but I’m happy to add or swap pieces if needed. There’s ducted heating in all rooms and air-conditioning in the living room. There’s one shared bathroom plus a separate toilet. We’ve got a spacious backyard with an undercover area and a garage for extra storage. There’s also plenty of parking in the front yard.

The location is great - close to walking trails, bus stops and only a 5-minute drive to Huntingdale or Jordanville Station, Chadstone Shopping Centre and Oakleigh. Monash is just around the corner, so it’s ideal for students too.

I’m looking for a friendly, considerate flatmate who communicates well. I really value a home where we can get along and have a friendship, while also respecting each other’s space and privacy. The house isn’t minimalist or perfectly spotless, but I do make an effort to keep it tidy and I appreciate someone who contributes and takes care of the shared spaces too. I’m collaborative when it comes to sharing the home and responsibilities, and I really value someone who can communicate openly about ideas, concerns or what they need.

About the flatmates

Hi, I’m Bec (34). I’m friendly, creative, and pretty easy-going, and I really value a calm, respectful home that feels safe and supportive. I enjoy a nice balance between connection and downtime, always happy for a yap, shared meal or cosy TV night, while also genuinely respecting personal space and quiet time.

I love arts and crafts, listening to music, trying new recipes, spending time with my dog, and generally pottering around at home. The house vibe is relaxed and lived-in rather than minimalist, clean and cared for, but not obsessive.

I work flexibly at the moment, so I’m home quite a bit, but I’m mindful of noise and shared spaces. I really value open, kind communication and believe a good home comes from being able to talk things through and be considerate of each other’s needs.

Otis is my 4-year-old rescue dog and very much part of the household. He can be a little anxious with new people at first, but if you give him space and respect his boundaries, he warms up quickly.

He’s playful (a big fan of tug and enthusiastically destroying his toys), but he’s well-behaved around the house. He doesn’t chew anything that isn’t his and never steals food. He spends most of his time indoors but loves sunbaking in the backyard and going for walks to the park.

He does take longer to warm up to other dogs, so unfortunately I can’t accept a flatmate who already has a pet.
