What makes this sharehouse shine is the flexibility and ease it offers. The layout is generous and adaptable, with multiple living zones that can be arranged to suit how you actually live, whether you prefer a defined bedroom setup, a combined bedroom–studio arrangement, or extra space to work, create, or unwind.
The home isn’t treated as a fixed or prescriptive setup. I’m genuinely happy to adapt the layout and furnishings and to co-create shared spaces together, so the apartment feels comfortable, intentional, and personal rather than like a temporary or one-size-fits-all sharehouse.
Practicality is also a strong point. The apartment has high ceilings, excellent natural light, generous common areas, and access to a shared backyard. Water is included in the rent, and the external laundry functions almost like a garage, offering storage, inbuilt drying racks, washing facilities, and communal clotheslines.
Location and amenity do a lot of the heavy lifting. Being directly above the Kensington light rail stop makes getting into the city effortless, while Centennial Park, UNSW, East Village Zetland, and the Rosebery/Green Square café precinct are all close enough to feel part of daily life rather than a special trip.
Overall, this is a calm, well-located home that prioritises mutual respect, flexibility, and comfort, ideal for someone who values having input into how they live and wants a sharehouse that feels considered rather than transactional. The unit is calm and self-contained, with neighbours who are friendly yet mostly keep to themselves, making it an easy place to unwind and recharge after a long day.

For rent: a spacious two-bedroom unit in the heart of Kensington, ideally located just a short walk from Centennial Park, a 15-minute walk to UNSW, and directly above the Kensington light rail stop. The city is only 6km away, with an easy 20-minute tram ride into the CBD.
The apartment is set on a quiet, leafy street and is shared with a postgraduate UNSW law student. It features high ceilings and generous living spaces across both the studio area and the open-plan lounge and kitchen. The home is light-filled and relaxed, with access to a shared backyard.
Water is included in the rent. Electricity, gas, and internet are split evenly.
The nearest shopping hub is Zetland’s East Village, which has supermarkets, gyms, and everyday essentials, and the area naturally flows toward Rosebery’s café and dining precinct around Green Square.
Laundry is located outside in a shared laundry room with the neighbouring unit. The space functions like a garage and includes a washing machine, inbuilt drying racks, communal outdoor washing lines, and additional storage space.
In terms of flexibility, the second bedroom is available to swap and inspect. For couples or those wanting extra space, the studio area can also be used as a private studio or as an extension of the bedroom. This option is available for $500 per week.
Timing-wise, I’m looking for a co-tenant to sublet the room within the next two weeks. Priority will be given to applicants who are able to sign on within the next week.
A bit about me: I’m a postgraduate law student with a background in corporate finance. I’m an avid baker, enjoy reading, and generally keep a quiet, calm, and respectful home. I love sharing a wine over a cooked meal, running to Coogee, going for walks and chats around Centennial Park, live music, and studying.
This place would suit UNSW students or professionals looking for a well-located, calm, and comfortable home with excellent transport and lifestyle access.
Happy to answer any questions or organise inspections. The property is available to inspect
Sunday 18 Januarary and every day over the next week, and I look forward to meeting you!
I’m also very happy to adapt the layout to suit your preferences and to co-create shared spaces so the home feels comfortable and personal for both of us.
