About me

# A little about me ♡

Hey! I'm Mercedez, I am currently living and working in Brisbane. I work full-time in wealth management/financial planning and I'm also studying Business and Law at QUT. I finish the busines side of the degree this year so just law left.

I am the oldest of five syblings, I have lived out of home in two sharehouses since I was 19 and worked full time since then as well.

I'm looking for a long-term home to live up my women in finance lifestyle in a modern apartment with another girl around my age.

### My personality

I'd describe myself as very ambitious, independent, outgoing when I'm comfortable, and quite driven. I'm definitely someone who likes having goals and working towards something, whether that's in my career, uni or personal life.

I'm pretty mature for my age in terms of responsibilities, but I'm also quite playful, sarcastic and love having a laugh. I can be a little sassy, and I appreciate people who don't take themselves too seriously.

I'm loyal, caring and quite thoughtful with the people I'm close to. I love having proper conversations, getting to know people and building genuine friendships. Reallly bad at small talk sorry.

I'm generally quite organised and particular about my surroundings. I love when everything feels clean, fresh and put together.

**My less perfect qualities?**

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I can overthink things, and I have a habit of taking on too much. I'm quite independent and can get caught up in work or uni, so sometimes I go a little quiet when I'm busy.

I also have ADHD, which means that despite being quite organised in some areas of my life, I can be surprisingly forgetful with everyday things. For example, I might completely forget I've put washing in the washing machine, leave something where it doesn't belong or occasionally forget to lock a door.

I completely understand that these things can be frustrating to live with, particularly when they affect someone else. The biggest thing I'd want a housemate to understand is that **it's never intentional, and it's certainly not because I don't care or respect our shared space**. Sometimes my brain just skips over things that seem obvious to other people.

I'm genuinely very open to constructive criticism. If something I'm doing frustrates you, please just tell me! I'd much rather someone call me out directly than quietly build resentment towards me. I won't take respectful feedback personally, and I'll make a genuine effort to improve, whether that's developing better habits, setting reminders or finding systems that work.

I don't expect anyone to manage my ADHD for me or constantly remind me to do things. I just appreciate a little patience and understanding while I work on them.

I'm also more than happy to extend that same understanding to my housemate. I don't expect perfection from anyone, and I think being able to communicate openly and laugh about the occasional silly mistake makes living together much easier. Just wanted to give this heads up though because for some people this may be a nightmare.

### What my day-to-day looks like

I'm generally pretty busy during the week! To be honest you may barely see me.

I work full-time in finance, usually during standard office hours, and study outside of work or work late. I'm a morning person when I'm in a good routine and love getting up early for the gym.

A typical weekday is some combination of:

- Getting up early, going to the gym or getting organised for the day.
- Working in the office.
- Coming home, making dinner, studying or catching up on life admin.
- Having a chat, watching something or winding down before bed.

Some evenings I'll be studying, at the gym, out for dinner or spending time with my boyfriend.

On weekends I'm a bit more spontaneous. I enjoy going out for breakfast or coffee, seeing friends, going out for dinner and drinks, shopping, exercising or just having a lazy day at home.

I've also run a marathon, so fitness is a pretty big part of my life!

### Things I love

- Gym, running, fitness and staying active.
- Fashion, shopping, skincare and looking after myself.
- Cute cafés, good coffee, brunch and dinner dates.
- Going out for drinks occasionally and dressing up.
- Financial markets, business and career development.
- Having a clean, aesthetically pleasing home.
- Good conversations, laughing and a bit of banter.
- Spending time with my boyfriend, friends and family.
- Being spontaneous when I don't have a million responsibilities.
- Having my own space and independence.

I'd love to live with someone who's happy to occasionally grab dinner, have a wine, go to the gym together or just sit on the couch chatting about our days.

However when I am in hyperfocus mode I may be less inclined to speak.

### Things I'm not a fan of

- Dirty kitchens, dishes being left for days or consistently messy shared spaces.
- People not cleaning up after themselves.
- Passive-aggressive communication.
- Constant parties or excessive noise during the week.
- Feeling like I need permission to exist comfortably in my own home.
- Having no boundaries or respect for personal space.
- Unnecessary drama or tension.
- Living with animals — I'm specifically looking for a pet-free home.

I don't mind friends visiting or having people over for drinks occasionally. I just wouldn't want to live in a party house every weekend.

### What I'm looking for in a roommate

Ideally, another girl around **23–30, who's working, studying or doing a bit of both.**

Someone who's friendly, independent, reasonably ambitious, clean and considerate.

I'd especially get along with someone who likes fitness, cafés, going out occasionally and having a nice home environment.

I don't need us to be best friends, but I would love to have a housemate I can laugh with, have a proper conversation with and feel comfortable around.

**My main expectations are:**

- **Female-only household**, ideally just two of us.
- **My own private bathroom or ensuite.** This is non-negotiable.
- **No pets or animals living in the apartment.**
- A genuinely long-term arrangement, ideally 12 months or longer.
- Respect for each other's belongings, privacy and personal space.
- Shared spaces kept clean and tidy.
- Open, mature communication if something isn't working.
- Comfortable with occasional visitors, including my boyfriend staying over sometimes, and friends coming around.
- A balance between being social and having quiet time.

With visitors, I'd obviously extend the same courtesy and respect your boundaries. I don't want someone practically moving in rent-free, and I'd expect the same from you.

I'd also want both of us to feel equally at home rather than one person feeling like they're a guest in the other's apartment.

### My ideal apartment

I absolutely love modern, high-rise apartments with a bit of a luxury feel.

My dream setup would be:

- A beautiful, modern apartment building in Brisbane CBD, Milton, South Brisbane, Newstead, Fortitude Valley or surrounding suburbs.
- Two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
- A pool, gym, rooftop or other nice resident facilities.
- Secure parking for my car.
- A furnished bedroom, with air-conditioning in the sleeping area.
- Lots of natural light and ideally city views.
- A clean, welcoming space that feels like home.
- Bills included if possible, or at least a clear, fair arrangement.

My original budget was around $350–$500/week, but I'm open to paying more for the right apartment and housemate especially in this economy RIP.

### A final little bit about me

I work hard and have a lot going on, but I also really value having a good home environment.

I want somewhere I can come back to after a long day, feel comfortable, have a laugh, invite my boyfriend or friends over occasionally and enjoy living.

I'm not looking for a temporary room or somewhere to just sleep between workdays. I'm looking for an actual home, ideally with another girl who's in a similar stage of life.

If that sounds like you, I'd love to chat! ♡
