Hey! I’m Rijk, 22 years old. I grew up in Heemstede, but I’ve been living in the centre of Amsterdam for a good while now with two housemates; and I love the mix of city life, community, and chaos that comes with it.
After a year of studying in Delft, I worked in hospitality and at festivals, then travelled through Asia for a few months. Eventually I started Bèta-Gamma and now major in Physics, which I’m really enjoying. I’m a pretty disciplined student, but I love balance: studying hard, then going out for spontaneous plans with friends.
I’m also part of a board-sports association back home, so you’ll often find me on a surfboard, skateboard, or anything plank-shaped although im more a life- styler. This year I’m heading to Sydney for an exchange semester at UniSydney super excited for meeting new people, nature, the beaches, and finally good weather
At home I'm… Easygoing, tidy, respectful, and social. I like a house where people get along, share a meal or drink. I’m totally fine with everyone doing their own thing, but I enjoy it even more when we do things together whether that’s sharing a meal, grabbing a drink, or just hanging out in the living room.
In my free time: I cook (worked in kitchens), go to the gym, run, plan weekend trips, enjoy festivals, explore the city, and say “yes” to last-minute adventures more often than I should.
What I’m looking for: A relaxed, friendly place with housemates who are open to hanging out and makes you feel like one big family what we’d call gezellig in Dutch..
If this sounds like a match, feel free to message me always happy to chat!
Groetjes,
Rijk
