I’m Diarmuid, rhymes with pyramid! I’m a 42-year-old Irishman and permanent resident of Australia, happily settled in Queensland.

I’ve relocated to the Gold Coast to work full-time on building a health-tech startup focused on improving nurse retention. I work outside the home. I’ll return to mental health nursing in the coming months, but for now I’m putting my energy into getting the business off the ground.

Outside work, I’m usually outdoors or planning the next escape. I enjoy sea swims, camping, fishing, 4x4 trips, entrepreneurship meet-ups, good coffee, better conversation, and I’m always up for a laugh!

I’m looking for a spacious private room in a quiet, clean, respectful home on the Gold Coast. Ideally, I’d love to be close to the sea for an early morning dip and within walking distance of public transport to the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. Safe included parking for my 4x4 is important.

Ideal setup: $250 to $350 per week including bills, one or two housemates, three max, no couples, and no smoking household.

I’m friendly, reliable with rent and bills, clean in shared spaces, and enjoy a home where people can have a chat without living in each other’s pockets. I bring Irish humour, decent manners, and less drama than a 4x4 reverse park!
