I am a 70-year-old from the UK travelling to Sydney for four weeks in October to spend time with my family in Maroubra. Because my family is based locally, I am not here to play the chaotic tourist. I simply need a clean, comfortable, and quiet base to sleep and enjoy a morning coffee.

Back in Birmingham, although I'm technically retired, that's not going so well.😉 I run a part-time digital marketing business. This means I am highly tech-savvy, completely self-sufficient, and fully house-trained. After decades of maintaining my own property, I know exactly what to do if the Wi-Fi drops out or a fuse trips, rather than panicking. I come with an excellent, somewhat dark sense of humour, and I promise not to be painfully cheerful before 8 AM.

I like to keep fit and log a solid number of miles walking every day, so I will be out on the coastal paths or with my family for the bulk of the day. When I am in the house, I am very happy to share a chat and a cup of tea, but I completely understand and respect the need for personal space.
