Melike

Hi! My name is Melike and I will be moving to Brisbane in order to start my PhD at QUT in July 2027, but since I do have a temporary accommodation, I am flexible regarding the moving date.
I am from Germany, but have Turkish roots and I love exploring and experiencing new countries.
I have lived and studied in Germany, the Netherlands and in Ireland so far.
I will be moving by myself, however, will hopefully bring my dog Minos over at some point, once I’m settled and sure that I will be able to balance him and work in a way that he is happy.
I have visited Australia a couple of times before and enjoyed each and every day of it which led me to the decision of wanting to live and do research there.
I am a tidy, clean and active person but I also don’t mind just hanging out and enjoying the day for what it is. I would say I’m an easygoing, fun and approachable person, and I respect other people’s opinions, space and need for quiet and would expect the same :).
I hope to find a nice accommodation, ideally within reasonable walking or public transportation distance of QUT (Gardens Point Campus) and on the North side of Brisbane either just for me or with likeminded and kind people to share!
