1998

Flatmate.com.au launched by Flatmate Selection

2000

Flatmates.com.au launched in Melbourne VIC

2007

Student Services Australia purchases Flatmates.com.au and continues to grow and improve the site.

2008

Flatmate.com.au is acquired and amalgamated into a single website.

2011

Flatmates.com.au offers a special service to allow victims of the Brisbane Floods to find free accommodation being offered by members of the community.

2012

December: Thomas a former manager of the largest share site in Europe and North America joins the team.

2013

May: Flatmates.com.au is relaunched

October: Flatmates.com.au becomes the largest specialised share accommodation website.

2014

March: Flatmates.com.au splits from Student Services Australia

October: Flatmates.com.au become the largest share accommodation website in Australia

December: CasaStudent.com, a student specific accommodation portal is launched in conjunction with StudentVIP.com.au

2015

January: Flatmates.com.au hits 2 million visits in a month for the first time.

2016

January: Flatmates.com.au hits 2.8 million visits, 14 million searches and 490,000 searches in the month.

Feb: Our market share passes 60%, more than twice the next biggest website.

April: Flatmates.com.au launches an all new website with improved functionality, speed and usability.

May: Flatmates.com.au joined the REA Group.
