Listing caps and Pro Plans FAQs

Share

Flatmates.com.au can be used for free by all members, but we do offer a number of paid plans that members can choose to upgrade to.

Upgrading is a great way to speed up your search by giving you the ability to contact all members on the site immediately, including Early Bird (link) members.  Upgrading also offers other benefits, such as listing multiple properties at one time.

Below are some FAQs regarding our listing limits and our pro plans.

How many listings can I have on the site?

All members on Flatmates.com.au are able to list one property or one person listing on the site for free.

Free members or members with one property or one person listing can also upgrade to our plans to take advantage of the other benefits on our site.

To list more than one property at a time you will need to have a paid plan. To list one-to-two properties at a time, you can choose between our 10 Day Basic Plan or our 30 Day Full Plan.  To list three or more properties at a time you can choose one of our Pro Plans, which are available on a 30-day or yearly basis.

Those who list only one property on the 30 Day Plan can also take advantage of our Guarantee.

Members with multiple properties do not qualify for the guarantee.

What if my plan expires?

If your plan expires while you’re listing multiple properties, we will place all of your active listings except the most recently activated listing into a pending state.

If your listing is placed in pending, that listing will be removed from search results until you purchase a new plan or deactivate your other listings. If after seven days no action has been taken, we will automatically deactivate these listings. Pending does not remove your information and all of the information on your listing will be saved.

You may at anytime re-activate a deactivated listing based on the number of listings allowed under your plan.

We will advise you through onsite messaging and via email 48 hours prior to the end of your plan. From here you can continue to upgrade your account or deactivate the listings you no longer wish to advertise.

How do I add a room to an existing property?

The Flatmates team suggest adding available rooms at the same address to a single property listing, rather than creating multiple property listings for individual rooms.

You can add available rooms to the same property via the “Add Room” link at the bottom of your property listing. You can make rooms available or unavailable via the same page.

Duplicating property listings on the site is against our terms of use (link) and can appear to be fraudulent behaviour by our system and our moderation team. We suggest only listing multiple properties when they are different, or if you’re listing the available space as either a whole property and as rooms in an existing share house (for example). Listings for properties in the same apartment building and therefore at the same address are allowed, but you will need to create separate listings for these.

I’ve just bought a plan, how do these changes affect me?

Nothing will change with your current plan, however once your current plan expires you have a number of choices:

Option 1: Once your current plan expires you can purchase a new plan or remain on a Free Account. If you remain on a Free Account you will be limited to one active listing on site at any one time. All other listings you have on your account will be automatically be deactivated.

Option 2: Upgrade straight away to one of our new plans. You will receive the remaining value of your old plan as a discount off your new plan.  This plan will be activated on your account immediately once you upgrade.

Option 3: If you choose to downgrade to a smaller plan or a free plan, you will need to see out the remaining days on your current plan before you can do this.
