Safe and homely, a beautiful house in a great area. 1 room available now, in a large household where I teach some classical music in the afternoons. It's in Camberwell right next to Hawthorn. I live in the bottom part of the house and my daughter ( a busy dance teacher ) in one of the four upstairs rooms. Her room and all the other 3 guest rooms have their own en/suites. There are actually 5 bathrooms in the house including 5 toilets, plus 2 other toilets. It is a short walk to Camberwell station in a leafy and quiet street. There are no bills to pay. I cook most nights and we eat about 7 or a bit later. Most of our guest have been happy to dine with us, saving money of course. Others may prefer to dine out. Good conversation is very important to me and my daughter...balanced with privacy of course (best of both worlds). Currently, the other 2 guests are a Taiwanese Uni student and an older business lady both with excellent English and fine character. Guests who have initially been worried about the rental price have found that it has worked economically for them with the lifestyle, privacy and included benefits (e.g. laundry with washer 2 dryers and detergent all included). There is plenty of excellent internet included. Train time to city is only 13 minutes or 22 depending which type. It's leafy and quiet but close to everything. We love it.

Great location and environment. About 25 minutes to city by train. We are renting a 2 bedroom unit (separate blocks, not on top of one another like apartments) and are looking to rent out our 2nd bedroom, it is less than 10minutes walk to Chatham station, Surrey Hills station and Tram 70 (Riversdale Road). There is also a 612 bus that runs between Box Hill and Chadstone. Chatham and Surrey Hills station are both zone 1 and 2, so you can get the cheapest rate whether you go into the city or out of the city. Surroundings are pretty nice, lots of parks, walks and close to Maling rd (Canterbury) which is filled with cafes if you are obsessed with coffee like me :D We get along with our neighbours as well, so there are no issues there.
