Sandwiched between Narrabeen Lagoon and North Narrabeen beach, Emerald City is the cheapest slice of heaven you could find in the Northern Beaches. It's two storeys and surrounded by a jungle of palm trees, and is the ultimate beach house. Upstairs: The room on offer is the most light-filled of the four and although unfurnished, has a built-in wardrobe with a decent amount of space and three shelves attached to the wall. The walls are blue which in the daytime makes it feel very lively. The living area is almost entirely made up of comfy couches and leads onto a chill little balcony, and the TV is armed with Netflix; all ready for you to zonk out to after work. The bathroom is shared with 2 others. Downstairs: The first thing you'll notice downstairs is the Emerald City Museum, which boasts ancient relics of yore (and also just cool skulls and nick nacks that have been collected over the years). The kitchen is fairly spacious, and we often have 2 or 3 people cooking at once. Plenty of bench space and the dining room right next to the kitchen gives us more room to cook. Outside: Our north-facing front verandah is a killer chillzone in the summer, perfect for BBQs, good times with mates, or just quiet reading in the sunshine; and is fenced off from the street for a little privacy. But if you're feeling a lil more radical, Emerald City's pièce de résistance is probably our mini skate ramp. We have four bills: gas, water, wifi and electricity, and the bills usually work out to be pretty cheap (around $20-25/week).
