The house is pretty quiet, with central heating and a private outdoor deck area. It is fully furnished and there is a built in cupboard in the room, but the furniture (bed and bedside table) can be moved out if you wish. We are about 5min bike ride to the Lyneham shops and 10-15min bike ride to ANU/the CBD.
The house is in Miller Street, O'Connor right near the Black Mountain ridge. Close to ANU if you're studying, close to Lonsdale Street and Civic (10 min ride) and importantly, the Polo! Nearest bus stop (Route 8) is 2 min walk away and goes to the city. The house is quite big with lots of shared space, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The house has reverse cycle heating and cooling and double glazing which keeps us warm in winter. We’re decked out with decking (that’s terrible, sorry) with the front deck looking over towards Mount Ainslie and a great place to enjoy the Canberra summer. We’ve also got a pretty decent herb garden, compost, shed, huge lock up garage for bikes and storage and a driveway to park in if you have a car. Kitchen comes with dishwasher, functioning oven, decent pantry and electric hotplates. Furniture wise - we are pretty well set up but will be needing some things like fridge, washing machine and kitchen table, as they will be going with our housemates. Your room comes unfurnished and has a huge ensuite, walk-in robe and can easily fit a queen bed and a desk. You will have lots of privacy as it’s located toward the back of the house. It gets lots of sunlight, the windows look out onto the garden and the cross breeze is good. Rent is $270 per week (individual) or $310 (couple), paid fortnightly. It has previously housed a couple easily. The lease is month to month at the moment and we will re-sign once we have a new housemate(s). Bills are split evenly each quarter and internet is paid monthly.

In addition to kitchen, living room, and dining room, we have a veggie garden, a roomy shed, and a bathroom with a pink bath :) The house is very close to ANU, a short walk to Braddon, and is on a number of bus routes, including a Parliamentary Triangle route. The room is large with a built-in closet and drawers, queen-sized bed, and loads of light from a gorgeous corner window.

My name is James and I have a spare room in my apartment in Turner. I live in a really leafy street that is only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The building is only about 15 years old and there are no major problems such as rising damp or dodgy electrical wiring. Rent is $220 a week and with that comes unlimited internet and Netflix. There is no water bill here and we will split the electricity bill 50/50. The apartment is nicely furnished with modern furnishings and is actually really spacious as far as apartments in Australia go. A great house on quiet street. Recently renovated. New kitchen and bathrooms. It's spacious and open. I have a friendly dog who stays with me a couple of days a week. Very convenient location, 5 mins to Dickson, 10 to the city, 10 to Gunghalin and 10 to Belconnen. We have Netflix, Stan, unlimited high speed NBN, a BBQ, a home gym and a handsome Staffy/ boxer named Raphael. We also have chickens, so free eggs ;) The main living area has reverse cycle A/C, and the whole house has ducted heating. We have a washing machine, dryer and two clothes lines. The house is kept very clean and tidy, as we both carry our weight with the cleaning, although the garden has gotten a bit out of hand over summer, so bonus point if you like gardening :) We live in a positive home environment and everybody enjoys everyone's company, and we would like to keep that going. This house is pretty great - it's a unit on a huge corner block so you feel like you have a big yard, with lots of nice trees including a little fig tree that's doing it's best. There is also an unreasonably large deck, and an actual little courtyard where the clothesline lives, together with the biggest rhubarb plant you'll see in this lifetime. Your room is the master bedroom - it's pretty big, has a nice big window, two (2!) built in cupboards/robes and your own ensuite bathroom. Lyneham is a great place to live - it's close to the city but quiet and peaceful. It's an easy 20 minute bike ride to the city, and if you don't want to ride, the bus stop is around the corner. There is also a pub within walking distance... There is an off street, outside car parking space, and a garage which does have a bit of space left for storage and will have much more space mid-year. We have solar panels and our great landlords let us keep the feed-in tariffs, which keeps our bills down. The room is available now - I'd love to hear from you!
