The property is a 3 bedroomed Queenslander about 5 mins walk from Sandgate Station and the town centre. The property has ceiling fans but no air-conditioning but it's pretty well aired. We have internet which is included in the rent as well as the electricity too. There is a shared lounge and sun room as well as a kitchen and dining room too. There is parking onsite and we have a small outdoor area too and we have friendly neighbours who pop round to socialise as well.
A short walk to Moreton Bay waterfront, our sweet Queenslander cottage home has a lovely shady garden with a huge table under the Poinciana tree, which is a naturally cool place to relax. We enjoy the sea breezes (esp from the hammock), movie nights outside (using our projector), the nearby recently refurbished council swimming pool and walking along the water to the friendly village-like suburb of Sandgate. The room includes furniture, fridge and fan, it can be emptied if preferred. Easy care timber floors and views of the garden. Shared bathroom. Bills and internet included, air-conditioner use extra. The bus stops directly outside the house, we are a short walk / bus ride to the waterfront, swimming pools, parks, coffee shops, supermarket, fish and chips, organics store, train station etc. We're omnivores and do our best to live a green lifestyle. There's plenty more garden space to grow food, two mango trees and some herbs. Do not apply if you abuse drink or drugs, this is primarily a family home.

The rent that I ask is inclusive of (fair use) of all utilities for longer term stay. For shorter term stays specifically over holiday periods rate is available upon request. I am in 4017 Sandgate/Deagon border....our area has excellent infrastructure with easy access to the M1 North and South. I have a fully renovated post-war cottage on the Sandgate/Deagon border with a detached studio freestanding from the house and with it's own entrance and deck; 200 mtrs walk to train (Shorncliffe line); 12 mins walk to waterfront, kitesurfing etc. cafe's, boutique bars, markets, parks and local theatre (Town Hall) etc.. 30 min train into CBD with additional trains running during peak hours); 12 - 15 mins drive to Chermside; quick and easy access to the M1 North and South and approximately 15 mins drive to airport (train runs to airport however one changeover at Eagle Junction is necessary) and about similar to Nudgee, 20 mins to 'the other side' over the bridge, Redcliffe. 12 mins walk to Sandgate transport interchange, with trains and buses access. Drive into the CBD much depends upon traffic flow and the time that you leave home. 'Normal' flow would see you in the CBD in 25 mins. I am happy for tenants to use the full kitchen in the house if that is what you would like/require. Also happy to share a cuppa/tv/chat if that is what might suit your needs. I have 2 small terrier mix rescue pups who pretty much easily warm to people. They are indoor/outdoor pets in my house and are part of the family....they don't have unfettered access to the studio tho :-). I am not insistent on a length of stay commitment however I would appreciate 2 weeks notice to vacate if circumstances permit. All utilities and own bathroom ( all inclusive rent per week is $295.00 for the studio for stay over 3 weeks - (includes fair use of water, electricity, gas, linen and mowing for one; couples by negotiation). Short term stay: two nights (min) is $75.00/night; one week to three weeks attracts a 15% discount on the nightly rate; 4 weeks plus attracts a 25%discount on the nightly rate or by negotiation for individual applicants. Pets are by negotiation only. No smokers and no smoking anywhere on the premises. All guests must respect the right of all residents to quiet enjoyment of the premises. Rates may be negotiated on request. Day to day cleaning is up to you for stays in excess of one week:-). A cleaner can be arranged at an additional charge of $29.00/hr ( a clean involving floors, bathroom/toilet; kitchen and linen change with bed remade is usually 1 - 1.5 hrs.. An exit clean charge of $95.00 is payable as you leave. Quiet street, wonderful neighbors, secure area. Area is mixed residential. Six raised garden beds in which you may plant your own vegies, fruit, herbs etc. References are required - from employer/previous accommodation. It is a very quiet place that is only a walks distance away from schools, shops and public transport. The house provides a spacious space with a large kitchen. The rooms all have built in closets as well. $500 per week to rent the whole house and $180 per week to rent one private room with other shared amenities such as the living room etc. Feel free to share the fee with another flat mate if wanting to rent the whole house.
