About the property
We have an unfurnished bedroom available in our lovely Elsternwick home. Rent is $310 p/w. This will be a lease transfer with 10 months remaining.
The house is in a great spot, about a 20-minute drive to the CBD or 30 minutes by train. It’s a 2-minute walk to cafés, a gym, a pottery studio and 7/11, and about 10 minutes to Glen Huntly Road (with Coles and lots of shops). There’s always plenty of unmetered on-street parking available if you come with a car.
The room is at the back of the house, with an east-facing window and tall built-in robes. It’s comfortably big enough for a queen bed plus other furnishings.
The house was recently renovated with fresh paint and carpet throughout. The kitchen looks out onto a small courtyard, and there’s also a garage that we use for storing art supplies and general bits and pieces. It gets lots of natural light and, while not huge, the layout makes it feel spacious. There’s a separate laundry and toilet to the shower (sharehouse essential), a decent-sized kitchen with gas appliances. We also have a cleaner come every three weeks.
We’re looking for someone 26+, house-proud, a non-smoker, kind, and keen to help build a home rather than just rent a room. Ideally, someone who isn’t also working from home. We’d love to live with someone who is socially and environmentally conscious, values a clean and calm space, enjoys being part of the household, and doesn’t just disappear into their room every night. Bonus points if you enjoy having friends over from time to time too.

About the flatmates
You’d be living with a couple:
Dee (36, she/her) – disability advocate and artist
Dan (33, he/him) – works from home in enterprise partnerships
Our favourite things to do include reading, watching movies, yoga and Pilates, game nights with friends, hobby crafting, DnD, nature walks, musical theatre, going to the gym, and travelling. We’re a good mix of homebodies and “out and about” people. We love hanging out at home watching movies, cooking and sharing meals, but also enjoy heading out for a drink or an event when time allows. On weekends, we’re usually catching up with friends, grabbing coffee, or wandering through the market. We love the occasional day trip or weekend away somewhere that includes a good nature walk.
Our party days are behind us and we’re definitely not a party house, but we do enjoy having friends over, the occasional dinner party or games nights, and still love a night out on occasion.
We split household admin and cleaning fairly and try to meet each other where we’re at with capacity. In the past, we’ve become good friends with people we’ve lived with, and we’re really hoping to find someone who wants to be our friend too! We’re easy-going and social and enjoy good conversations, but we also value personal space and respect each other’s privacy.
