About the property

Our house is called ED, in honour of the Italian migrant, Emilio D’ Orazzio, who built it for his family home.
We never met him, but we appreciate the love he put into the building, in which he raised two boys and two girls.
The huge windows let in heaps of light, the wide corridor gives a feeling of space, the large living room and dining room also feel expansive.
The kitchen is huge, industrial, bright and fully equipped - a delight to cook in.
The front yard is a generous concrete carpark, with access for 5 cars to park autonomously: more can park but will need manoeuvring to get back out.
The back yard is a tranquil oasis, with a pergola for al fresco dining and entertaining, lounge chairs for chilling, veggie patch, herb garden and fishpond.
All 5 bedrooms are roomy and bright, easily accessible and private. One has an ensuite with bathtub. Both bathrooms have huge showers.
There is a large, bright library downstairs with armchairs for quiet reading.
There is also a study/spare room available if you’re hosting a guest. And a music room with a piano for playing or hanging out in when you want to completely get away from your housemates but you don’t want to stay in your own room!

About the flatmates

I plan to travel overseas for at least a year, so I won’t be around from April 2026.
Friends and family will drop in to check that all is well with the property and the housemates.
I am a 63-year-old widow, retired post-secondary educator and educational administrator.
Our house has always been full of guests, housemates, friends and visitors. We love people! Our Greek culture strongly promotes the values of hospitality and sharing. We are easy-going and accepting of other people’s differences. We are inclusive and celebrate diversity. Two things we don’t tolerate are: (i) lack of cleanliness and (ii) disrespect of others.
We really want to offer a safe space for female housemates.
