I have a double story house in Strathpine. I live in a flat downstairs. There are three (3) rooms upstairs which I have made available to let. 2 of the rooms are being let to mature males aged 34 and 26, one who has a young child who comes and stays every 2nd weekend. The upstairs common areas are fully furnished.Essentially the upstairs area is a share-house for (3) three tenants. The rent is $150.00 per week and includes free internet access, electricity bills (caped at $550.00) and Foxtel. I also have a dog. However, he tends to stay in the big back yard or otherwise in my flat downstairs. There are assorted shops just 15 mins walk down the road together with the local Train station, which is only 30 mins from Brisbane CBD. New tenant will be required to pay a bond of two (2) weeks rent. I’ve lived there for 1.5 years in the complex and never had any problems. Just been home for Christmas and I am moving into a new property in the complex as my old lease expired and my housemate took over while I moved home. You will have to be on a lease. The lease is for 6 months with an option to renew after 6 months. You get your own room with own large bathroom to yourself. Rent is $345 a week. So rent would be $172.50 a week each. Bond is 4 weeks rent divided by two obviously :) Only bills are power roughly $60 a month. Internet roughly $65 a month and gas for hot water which is very rarely topped up as it lasts for months.
