Hi, I'm Mel

I work part-time and I'm starting my PhD on the 1st of October at UQ. Between now and then, I am looking for the right place to live long term. My Budget is for between 160-200 dollars per week. I'm looking for somewhere homely and would like to carefully choose who I live with. I like to work hard, but don't mind relaxing or having a few drinks on occasion.

I think that the most economical way to find accommodation is to share a 2 bedroom unit. I would simply transfer my internet to the new address and set up the utilities in my name. It would be nice to share with another PhD student, as we both have a similar budget and lifestyle.

I love to cook and I usually do all the dishes right after I've finished. I like to prepare my own food but don't mind sharing some meals. I like to cook Central European, Thai and Persian food. Would be ideal if you have a place where I could install my chin-up bar. I do have kitchenware, some furniture and household items, but could probably sell, use or store these. If I rent a place with someone, we can pay the bond together and organise a washing machine and fridge.
