Hi,
I am a Korean New Zealander relocating to Melbourne in late January 2026. I grew up in Auckland.
I am a registered social worker in NZ, but I will be unemployed for a while in Australia until I find a job. (I am thinking 2-3 months max) I am going to take it slow, as I am burnt out due to work currently - but I will eventually be working full time. I am bringing with me enough fund to last for at least a year without work, so rent will be paid on time like clockwork.
I am super serious about hygiene, as most Koreans are - I take care of my space and clean wherever I go spotlessly. I cook lightly.
I am very quiet and pretty private. I need a house where people sort of go and do their own things - occasional socializing is fine of course, but no families please. I am very respectful of others' privacy, and you won't even know I am there most of the times.
I am looking for a large room, as I have some boxes of clothes I will be shipping over from NZ -these are quite a bit in volume as I am moving permanently. if there's extra space around the house that would be great, so I could just put them there. They won't take up too much space but I do need some extra space - perhaps about the size of a king single size bed (I can stack them up). I am pet friendly-I love animals.
Shared bathroom is fine, but I am not looking for a house with too many people. 3 max, including myself.
I need a bed, a desk with chair, a wardrobe and heating/cooling available in room.
I am flexible with location, as long as the place has easy access to public transport and reachable within 20-30(max) min from Melbourne central (CBD) via bus or train. It'd be ideal if the house is near a supermarket.
If things are fine I am looking to stay for at least 6-12months. I am not fussy, I just need a place I can call home in my first year of life in Melb :..(
Thanks, please drop me a line if you have a space for me!
