Kira

Hi! My name's Kira, and I'm a 26 yr-old incoming Philosophy PhD student at the ANU. I was raised part US, part German, with a decent bit of Indian influence sprinkled in (trying to downplay the US part these days 😅), and have been in Canberra for just under a month now. I’m really fun-loving and curious, and in general, love learning, discovery, and adventure.

On the side of my studies, I do ceramic sculpting and rock climbing as my main extracurriculars, and I love getting into nature any time I can (think things like hiking, fossil hunting, bird watching, etc). I’m also a huge lover of houseplants, and if I’m lucky enough to join your fam, I’d be delighted to deck the space out with some trailing greenery, warm lights, and art. Game nights are a fav of mine, and I’m always happy to be social when there’s energy in the air, but I’m also super respectful of people’s need for private time and space.

On the “housemate perks” side: I’m a ridiculously solid sleeper, in case that matters, in that I can and will sleep through quite almost anything — lights, sounds, music, earthquakes, alien invasions, crying babies, you name it. I love bringing art and creative activities into my environment, and I’m just really excited at the thought of living with a good group of people. Hoping to find a somewhat social house with at least 2/3 others where everyone gets on well with one another, and where I can feel at ease and hopefully add something good to the mix.
