Hello! I’m looking to share a place with one or two other people. I’m interested in camping, hiking and going to see live music as much as I can. At home, I like cooking, gardening and relaxing with a book. I enjoy a clean and tidy house and would only like to live with others who feel the same way. Looking to move into an established house share or to find a place with others. ☺️
I'm a 38 year old Canberra-based self-employed heath professional (psychologist / body-centered psychotherapist), with an interest in yoga, dance, chi gong, embodied movement, the outdoors, mountain and motor bike riding, swimming, freestyle wrestling, food, coffee, design, art, dogs, indoor plants, travel, jazz records, and theatre. I also study Vietnamese language part-time at the ANU. I have plenty of share house experience and have also owned my own home. More recently, I've been renting a one-bedroom apartment. I'm looking for a change this year, and am keen to get back into a share house in the inner north of Canberra. Ideally a nice older house in O'Connor or Turner, but also looking in Ainslie, Braddon, Lyneham, or Reid. Somewhere that feels grounded, where I can share expenses relating to rent and bills, and enjoy the company of LGBTIQ+ friendly housemates who have a relatively healthy lifestyle and are (approximately) aged in their mid-twenties to mid-forties. I'm taking part-time long-service leave this year, and will be working part-time flexible hours across 2019. I plan on setting up a base in Melbourne at some point, and living between Canberra and Melbourne. I'll also be abroad for several weeks across the year, for travel, study, and to see my partner who lives overseas.
Hi, I'm Suzannah. I'm currently looking to come to live in Canberra from country NSW. I'm a friendly, and tidy person. I'm always up for a chat or a drink or two, but I also respect personal space. I am a pretty active person and always try to keep myself busy. I enjoy music, sports and fitness.
Returning to Canberra for study and job hunting, after working in the UK and South Sudan. Looking for a room available now or end of March at latest. I like sharing dinner and a glass of wine, perhaps having a few others over to do so as well, but not after a party house. On a weekend I'll be heading out for frisbee, running, hiking, with a bit of that through the week too - a spot (on road/off road) for a car is needed. I enjoy keeping communal spaces clean. Would be great to live with people in their mid 20s-30s. Unfortunately sneezing mess around cats :( , and not keen on smoking households. I'd like a room with a window, plus space for a double bed and a small desk. Most importantly, I'd love to meet housemates as well!
I'm a 30-something public servant, living and working in Canberra since 2014. I've lived in a sharehouse in Campbell for the last 5 years and am looking for a room in a mature, considerate sharehouse in a leafy inner suburb. While I enjoy my own space and like peace and quiet during the work week I am a cheery house guest and happy to enjoy a cuppa or movie night on the weekend. Tidy and considerate, I'm very happy to do my share of household chores and am a keen gardener. I have a cat, Oswald, a ginger tabby who is very talkative, but friendly and enjoys cuddles and belly rubs. He will be your friend if you feed him :) He is currently an indoor/outdoor cat. If you think Oswald and I would be a good addition to your household we'd love to hear from you :) Hannah
Just moved to Canberra from the UK to work for an IT start-up. I've already spent 4 months here over the course of 2018 and am looking for a place to settle down and get stuck in to the city! Ideally I'd like to share with one or two people. I'm into running, snowboarding, paddleboarding (when I can get away!). Love generic socialising - going for a hike, a drink, hosting dinner parties and the odd proper party! I just got here so have nothing, but I suppose I could apply initiative and buy furniture...I suppose.
Hi, I'm a research scientist who enjoys playing sports and being out in nature. I’m friendly, respectful, tidy and reliable. Please message me if you'd like to team up or if you have a room available.
I'll be moving to Canberra in late February to start post-grad study in Anthropology at ANU. I've been in Melbourne this last year but have moved around a little, including a year in Canberra in 2017. I'm quite looking forward to returning! I found I fit frightfully well into the Canberra mould (this challenged me ;) ) I run, yoga, like film and making things, gigs in town and leaving town. I think I'm a pretty easy going housemate. I've lived in a few share houses with people I didn't know beforehand, and while I've never exactly sought a share house 'family,' the pattern seems to be that I adore my housemates and really enjoy hanging out with them. I imagine I'll be pretty focused on uni, but would also like to leave it at uni - I'm keen to live with people who are not tearing their hair out writing a thesis and to be part of other worlds. I'm sometimes very busy and social and sometimes much at all. I cherished my mountain time and Smith's time equally in the last Canberra stint. I'm reliable (with rent etc.), I like things clean and am happy to be there keeping them clean (as long as I'm not the only one!). I’d love some garden space for potting and pottering. I'm keen to share with up to four people who like peace and laughter at home.
Public servant, new to Canberra. Good tenancy record (all full bond refunds). Looking for a room, I have a lot (a full house worth) of whitegoods and furniture too.
Hey I’m Seb, Look no further for the perfect flat mate. I am clean, quite, don’t smoke and rarely drink... oh yea I can cook too. I am studying part time while working 4 days a week in the city. I am looking for a relaxed, quite house to share. I am happy to have a chat or stick to myself.
Hi! I'm friendly, social and respectful of diversity and like home to be a recharge space so respect privacy. I will be starting a new job with the APS (first time public servant -eeek!) and like to cook, read, binge netflix and meet new people. I like to be friends with my housemates rather than only share a space so enjoy sharing a meal, a good wine and chat on occasion. I'm coming in from Queensland but have been overseas for 11 years - so quite used to sharing accommodation and compounds. Looking for a relaxed, tidy household with larger room pref with ensuite. Parking space a bonus!
Hello! I'm David. Looking for a friendly sharehouse in the inner-North of Canberra. I like cooking (lots of baking), bike rides, going for runs, knitting. I'm fairly clean and tidy. I work full time in a student residence. Also doing some study on the side.
Hi there, I'm Jay and recently moved to Canberra from Sydney to start up a grad position with the APS. Generally pretty relaxed and love doing outdoor activities particularly hiking, snowboarding, camping and swimming, but also down for more chilled out things like playing video games, board games, having a drink etc. I also like to keep my place clean and tidy (I love vacumming for some reason). Ideally looking for a private room in somewhat close proximity to Civic and/or Brindabella. Feel free to shoot me a message about anything :)
HI there! I am a Master's student at ANU (final semester yaay) looking for a new place to call home now :D I have previous share house experience - Tidy, social and pay bills on time. Lemme know if you have anything for me :)
I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time (6m+), as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand!
Hey future housemates! I'm moving up to Canberra in March to do a masters by research at UNSW Canberra, originally from Melbourne. I just finished my undergrad in aerospace engineering, and have a permanent position as a naval architect. I like to get out and about, go camping in the bush or head to a bar or cafe, but also appreciate some down time. I've lived in sharehouses for the past 8 years and never had a problem. I respect other people's space and privacy, but am always keen for a chat, drink, meal or adventure when we're all around :)
Gday! My name’s Liv and I’m looking for my next sharehouse in Canberra to call home. Originally from Brisbane, I’ve spent the last 4 years in Canberra inner North sharehouses and have the shared living routine nailed. I love cycling, Peep Show and pot plants and spend most of my free time outdoors or relaxing with a glass of vino and good book. Work Monday for Friday and study part time! Looking for a friendly, warm house vibe but obviously respectful of privacy and space :)
I’m an easygoing and friendly barista who enjoys cooking. I typically like keep to myself when I’m at home after a long day of socialising at work. But I’m welcome to having regular chats. I’m clean, dependable and respectful of people’s privacy, which I expect of my housemates.
Hi! We are Langdon and Michael and are two university students at ANU looking for 2 bedrooms either sharing with others or as a single property, ideally before the start of the new semester. below you will find a description of each of us. We would love to hear from you! My name is Langdon and I'm going into my fourth year of university at ANU and am looking for a place to live this year. I am from a small town in rural NSW but I grew up in Argentina and America so can speak spanish and have traveled quite a bit. my hobbies include the outdoors, photography, music, and exercise. I am always happy to chat over a beer or to play a game of cards or scrabble but am also very considerate and respect peoples wants for privacy. I'm not much of a party animal, I prefer to stay in with a movie and some nice food over a late night in civic. I am a very keen cook so have a whole heap of cooking books and equipment to clutter the kitchen and hopefully produce some good food out of it. I'm very neat and organised (usually) and will be working two part time jobs as well as being a full time student so will be very busy most of the time. I love playing sport in particular soccer and swimming, and really keen on bouldering at blochaus in Fyshwick. so would love it if I could find some people who are keen on learning to rock climb with me! I am currently interning at an agricultural export company in Melbourne but will be returning to Canberra around the 15th so would really love to have a place organised by then. Thanks a-lot! Langdon Hello! I’m Michael and will be going into my fifth and final year of university at the ANU and looking for a year long lease to move into. Originally from Malaysia, I’ve moved to Canberra for university and is now proudly calling Canberra my second home! Growing up in Malaysia has exposed me to a lot of different cultures and that has made me fluent in a few languages. To name a few, Cantonese, Malay, English, and to a certain extent Mandarin. I have recently started to like playing board and card games, and I will always be down to play a few games alongside with some quality wine (and a cheese board!) While my party days as a university student’s history, my usual Thursday night and weekend have evolved around Netflix or just simply doing some body weights workout in my room. Like most people, I believe respecting privacy is one of the key features in maintaining a nice and loving share house. Being a Malaysian at heart means that we love to eat. Thus, the kitchen is no stranger to me. I love making Malaysian foods (though nothing close to home) and would not mind sharing some of my dishes with the household!! Other than that, I also do meal prepping on Sundays when I get really busy. I will be working part time at two jobs alongside being a full time student. Even when I’m busy, I try to keep places neat, tidy, and adhering to the cleaning schedule (if there’s one). When I have some spare time, I love hitting the gym and doing some cycling (rpm) lessons. I’d be more than happy for us to hit the gym together!! I am currently working for my family business in Malaysia and will return to Canberra on the 22nd, and it would be lovely to have a place organised by then. Thanks, Michael
I just moved to Canberra to do my PhD on tropical medicine. In my free time I like to go running, rowing, camping, playing tennis/squash and traveling. I am looking for a relaxed place not to far away from ANU.
Hi! My name is Acacia-Rae (Rae is a bit easier). I'm looking for a new cool home for me and my little best mate, Teddy. Teddy is a 1 year old cat who is more like a dog: loves people, plays fetch and thinks humans are pretty alright. He is super well behaved, litter trained and comes with actual real estate agent reference! I'm also pretty well trained and can come with references. I have lived in share houses for the past 10 years, some with siblings, some with mates. I am a smoker, but you'll never catch me doing it inside, and I try to be very conscious of any non-smokers' space. I work in a law firm, full time, as an EA. In my down time I like to hang out with my few mates who haven't left Canberra, go to the gym, read, and kiss Teddy on his silly head. An added bonus, some may say, is that I love gardening (may or may not be good at it) so very keen to help if your home has some greenery. Can't wait to hear from ya, future housemate!
I'm a Yoga teacher, dancer, photographer, nature-lover. I'm very tidy, thoughtful and responsible. I am independent with a full life, but I also enjoy the buzz and colour of communal living with good-hearted and gentle people. I like to live in places with beautiful light and near to nature.
Looking for some lovely people to live with, either an existing share house or starting one up! I have a cat, Bobby, who is very polite and adorable. He wears a cat scrunchie (look them up!) which means he co-exits nicely with local bird populations. Ideally Bobby will move in with me.
I'm a German biology PhD student coming to Canberra in March for a 12 months research stay at the ANU. I'm looking for flatmates who aren't just sharing the house to keep the rent low. I also like having meals or tea/wine/beer with my flatmates once in a while. I've been in shared flats for nearly ten years now, so I know how to keep common areas clean and I respect when people need some time on their own. In my free time, I like learning languages, playing board and card games with friends, going to concerts and being out in nature/hiking. I'll have to leave my band in Berlin, so I'm excited to see which new hobby I might pick up in Canberra.
