Hey, I'm Karla. I'm a 21 year old law student moving from Melbourne to Canberra. I'm the gal on the right in the picture. I mostly split my time between spending way too much money on quality coffee, going to gigs and trying not to cause permanent damage to my kitchen when I cook. I'm pretty laid-back, clean and I make a mean guac.
I am a Danish exchange student, who will be studying at ANU for 1 semester starting Feb. 14th 2017 in order to finish my BA degree in anthropology. I consider myself openminded and easygoing, fond of travelling and meeting new people. I have been living with different roommates for the past 4 years, and I truly loving living with other people. I also know how important it is to have a lovely living-environment, especially when it comes to balancing between being friends and having fun on the one hand, and respecting privacy and keeping the place clean and a nice place to live on the other.
Law and Health Sciences Grad moving to Canberra from Melbourne to take up a Graduate job. I'm tidy and conscientious, typically quiet but also like to socialise. Want to live with easy-going people in a relaxed environment.
Hi, I'm Gemma - I’m 29, currently living in Sydney, but moving down to Canberra in January of 2017 to start a Bachelor of Writing at UC. I would love to live in a home that is open minded and friendly ... incidental (or planned!) chats over tea/wine, the odd dinner party, mid-week cook up etc - but also a place where people do their own thing! Home is important to me, and I love doing everything I can to nurture a space. I guess I like doing things that lots of people like doing (!) - reading, movies, music, tea, a bit of yoga, the odd beer in the sun, making chutney, good conversation. I’m relaxed, considerate, clean, and reliable. In an ideal world I would like to move in mid January, but if a great place came up I would be very willing to discuss the possibility of moving/starting to pay rent in early January. As you will notice, I am an outdoor smoker... just wanted to mention that I am (obviously) very considerate of those that don't smoke (I realise it is very rare to smoke these days). My preference is definitely to move into an established sharehouse - largely due to moving interstate. However if a great bunch of people were setting up a house, and the circumstances worked for all, being part of a new home could potentially be discussed... hope to hear from you, very best. Gem
We are quite active, sociable people who work full time and are looking for a person to join our 4 bedroom share house in late December or early January. We are renting a lovely 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in Ainslie with a big kitchen, sunny back deck and beautiful garden facing onto the Mount Ainslie nature reserve. We like to cook, eat out, and share a wine or 10 over a laugh. We are looking for someone to join us in a home away from home. If this sounds like it would suit you please get in contact with us and we can tell you more about the house, and catch up for a coffee to find out more about each other. PS - we are left and right in the photo.
Heya! My name is Florence (Flo works too), and I'm studying English and film at ANU - decided on after changing my degree three times. I'm a music lover, and a huge plus would be to find somewhere to have a jam every now and then! I want to find somewhere social and relaxed where the housemates are exactly that, mates (but I, like everyone else, need my personal space also). I prefer a bev or two on a sunny afternoon over civic, which I can stand very rarely. I am a keen runner and like to stay fit, eat pretty healthily and like to cook. I am a rather clean gal and would like to live with people of a similar mindset in that regard. P.S. I'm an occasional social smoker, it won't let me tick a box for that. If you wanna know more, ask away!
Professional looking to start a share house with one or two other people. Prefer 30+ and who are clean, tidy and trustworthy. I travel for work a bit so am not always home. Will be relocating to Canberra in Jan 17. Yes, I am in my 40's (insert sad face here) but I am very sociable and am down to earth and love to be able to have a laugh with my roomies. On the flip side am respectful of needing space and downtime. I stay fairly quiet during the week as I am an early starter for work, but do enjoy a wine and a chat, especially by the end of the week !! Love to cook and am happy to share a meal or go to the local ...
Hi. I am moving to Canberra in the new year to start work with the Dept Agriculture and Water. I am in my 40s and I'm looking for a quiet place in a shared house for me and my beautiful quiet gentle dog, a rescue greyhound called Bessie. We therefore need a place with a secure fenced in backyard. She is cat friendly, and no trouble at all. I am tidy, considerate, environmentally conscious and a good cook and handy gardener. I think I would fit in well with mature aged students or other professionals.
Hi all! My name is Laura, I am a postgraduate student obtaining my Masters in Globalisation at ANU. I am originally from the United States, but am quite familiar with Canberra as this will be my second year of uni. I am looking to move closer to the city as right now I feel I live too far, and my modes of transportation do not get me there and back fast enough. Ideally, a 10-minute bike ride is as far as I would have to go. I am clean, tidy, and friendly. I enjoy cooking, socialising, wine, game nights, and some down time. I am looking for a place to call home ideally with individuals who want to be more than just roommates and enjoy some chats and laughs! Looking to move in end of January/early February. Please contact me for this listing through message as I am out of the country until the new year! Thank you!
Hi! Im Bec, I'm a friendly, outgoing full-time public servant who has lived in Canberra since Jan 2016. I like being outdoors, busy and social, but also enjoy having some down time! Hoping to find housemates who want a social house. Happy to live with one person or a few, eager to live close to the city (north side preferably) and move in asap.
Hi I'm Karina, looking to rent a room in the inner north. I'm a full-time public servant working in media and communications. I'm easygoing, sociable and like to lead a relaxed and healthy lifestyle. Seeking likeminded housemates who are similarly friendly, tidy and responsible.
Hello! I'm a 28 year old male public servant looking for a room long-term in the Inner North. Looking to share with public servants/professionals/postgrads. I'm a friendly, easy-going sort of person who has lived in a couple of different share houses and knows the importance of keeping common areas clean and respecting other people's space. I'm fairly busy and am out and about a fair bit. But I definitely think it's important to get to know the people I'm sharing my home with and I'd be keen to live with people who like to hang out for a meal or a drink sometimes. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lawrence
I'm a very easy going student currently studying at UC and working a retail job. I'm easy to get along with, and looking forward to living in a nice group environment - I loved the last share house I was in! Happy to keep to myself if it's a quiet place, but I love to socialise. Always keen to play video games, board games, and just chill :)
Hi, I’m really excited to say that I’m finally moving to Canberra to study a MSc of Climate Change at ANU after spending the last 3yrs working as a geologist in Perth. I’ve lived in a lot of share houses over the last 10yrs and I’ve spent the last 2yrs living solo, so I can happily say that I’m independent, open minded and mature. I’d love to live with people who are more friends than strangers, and we can have a laugh, share a meal and a drink now and again, but also don’t mind if I spend some time alone. My interests are pretty broad, ranging from environmentalism and sustainability, to weight training, rugby, running and cycling, to yoga, theatre and the arts. I’m vegan but I’m completely open minded and respectful that everyone lives their life differently. I’m moving to Canberra in February so yeah this is early but I want to start getting organised soon. Look forward to hearing from you :)
I'm a recent graduate (and hopefully a soon-to-be honours student) from ANU. I'm really clean and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything as such. I can be quite sociable but I also love personal space for some down time. I work part-time in Civic so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
i'm a geographer from melbourne starting a phd in sociology at anu. i come with a bike named nimbus. i have no musical ability whatsoever, but i like listening to those who do. i also like films and i'm currently making a documentary of my own. i speak german and mandarin. i enjoy baking, but don't think i'm very good at it. if you've got one, i would love to be involved in a veggie garden!
Current landlord has decided to sell their house, so looking for somewhere new to live. I am a 23-year-old Law student at UC; I also work part time. So busy during the semester, but have a tendency always to find the time for a drink and chat. I am hoping to move into a house with good people who enjoy each others company, but at the same time don't live on top of each other.
I like to keep my house clean and uplifting. This also means I'm looking for people with a good sense of the estate, respect, care and humour. Apart from this, I've got a car and an ample amount of living room furniture.
I'm moving up to Canberra from Melbourne to start a graduate position at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Looking for a laid-back, chill but tidy and respectful established household. I am a clean, pretty laid-back individual! I love a good Netflix binge, inviting friends over for dinner and drink or two and engaging in a good discussion about current world affairs. Am into films, festivals and gigs and keen to see how Canberra compares to Melbs. Do enjoy hiking, am trying to get active again and love using my bike for commuting. Let me know if you're interested! PS I actually have no photos of me by myself right now, so that's me with my lovely trekking guide in Vietnam.
Hi, I'm Chris, a 22 year old student from Sydney whose moving to Canberra to commence a Bachelor of Nursing. I formerly lived in a 40 person Housing Co-operative in Sydney called Stucco. Stucco has taught me the value of living in communal spaces, so I very interested in finding somewhere that is lively and homely.
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7. I am particularly interested in teaming up with 1 (maybe 2 max) other person (s) to find a place to share together. Chuck us a message!
looking for a place to stay for a year or longer sooner rather than later if possible recently finished school where I boarded
I have recently accepted an offer to work full-time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs as an ICT Graduate, and am looking for accommodation starting in early January. I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane on the 7th of January, though I am flexible, and more than happy to join a lease prior. I am twenty one years of age, and have recently completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Software Development, from Griffith University. I am an easy-going, considerate and sociable person, and am a strong believer in cleanliness. I have a passion for travelling and enjoy playing computer games in my free time.
I'm a 21 year old uni student, studying law and as well as working part-time. Next year I will be in my last year of study, so I'm not really concerned where in Canberra I live (so long as I have a house). I also work as a paralegal (yes like Rachel from Suits). I am outgoing, talkative person. Always up for a hang out but also appreciative of space. Also like my living space clean. I'm looking for like-minded people, who don't mind a hang out every now and again. But also appreciate the need for space and quiet when studying. In my spare time I like to hike, scuba dive and generally get out of the house. Hit me up if you want to know more, I never know what to say in these things. :)
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
I'm a third-year ANU student. I love great chats but also personal space. I'm really tidy and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything like that. I'm a department officer at the ANU Students Association so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
Generally friendly, easy going, like a chat, equally happy to do my own thing. I've been share housing all my life. I'm a bit of a project girl. Every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet and write a script for a short-film or have a down-home community art-photography exhibition or something. I was once an opera singer, but now I mostly just hum quietly in the shower. I love walking on Mt Majura (the moss was amazing this winter!). I'm looking for one or more mature flatmates, and I'm pretty partial to houses with big north facing windows.
I am from Sydney and I will be moving to Canberra to start an APS job. I enjoy socialising but also my down time and love a good cup of coffee! I like to get out on the weekends and explore the city, especially bush walking and swimming to keep fit. Having lived out of home for a number of years I know how to look after myself. I'm tidy and respectful especially in shared spaces. I love animals and would be more than happy to share with someone with pets although I don't have any myself.
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
Iam looking for 1x Bed 1x Bathroom 1x Carpark Looking at around January - Fenruary 2017+. A working professional and i'll be mainly at work from 7am to 6pm Monday to Fridays. I am extremely clean, tidy and quiet and trust worthy, a non smoker. Also, will help in keeping the place clean and tidy. Alternatively looking at teaming/ sharing a 2x Bed, 2x Bathroom, Carpark (under cover) Bills to share (internet, Water, Elec.). Message me your details ASAP to discuss further
I have just accepted my offer into the Master of Economics at ANU, and am looking for accommodation around uni. I am currently scheduling the move to Canberra for the first week of February, but am flexible if you would prefer earlier/ later. A bit about me: I am 23, and completed my undergrad in 2015 from the University of Sydney, majoring in Political Economy and International Relations. I grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Australia in 2011. I am half Australian and half Pakistani (have passports from both countries). I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, and have grown to love them very much. I know when to keep to myself, but also like being able to come home and share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time.
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
Hi, my name is Georgia. Looking to move out around the inner north in early to mid January with a friend (possibly - or just me). Easy to live with, happy & social person yet very busy with work and training on weekdays! I'm an early riser and work as an exercise physiologist. On top of cooking and cleaning etc!
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
I'm a student about to start my first year of a PhD at the ANU, studying diseases of plants. Overall, I'd consider myself a reasonable, easy going person. I'm also clean but not obsessive about it. Ideally, I'm looking for a place where I can be friends with the people I'm living with though I'm also happy living with people that like to keep to themselves. I'm a bit of a workaholic so I may be a bit hard to come by during the week but I'm always willing to hang out on the weekends.
Hi there! I'm a 32 year old Australian, looking for long term accommodation in Canberra. I don't have a car and ride everywhere, so I am looking in suburbs not too far from the university; inner north and eastern suburbs. I'm easy-going, reliable and tidy, and as such looking for similar flatmates. I'm very sociable, and would like to live in a house with like-minded people, with whom I can have a beer, a chat and a laugh. I'm doing a PhD in linguistics at ANU and go away often for my research. I have no pets and I don't smoke, but I do have a cello. If you think we'd be great housemates place please get in touch! Cheers, Alex.
Hi ! I'm a french student in an engineering school in Paris. I am currently in a gap year and after 6 months in Sweden, I will spend 6 months in Canberra for an internship at the CSIRO. I will be working there full time from mid february to the end of july. I'm pretty social but also like to have my own space, I am used to live with flatmates. I am respectful of others and clean! As I will come from France, I won't have any furniture, so I am looking for a furnished room. I am very excited to live in Australia for six months, I hope I'll meet new friends and I am looking for room in a friendly home!
I'm a pretty easy going uni student! I hope to be working full time next year in the city and decided it was time to move a bit closer! I just finished my second year at UC (Industrial Design) and will be studying part time next semester. I'm pretty chatty but also respect privacy/time out. I don't have any pets but also wouldn't mind if housemates did (especially dogs! <3) Also my move in date is pretty flexible anytime around the beginning of 2017 :) Feel free to message me if you have anywhere that you think would work! :) Thanks!!
Hey guys, I'm a recent graduate from the ANU and I work full-time in hospitality. I currently live in a share house with a few friends in Ainslie, and I really enjoy share house living. I love to have meals and hangout with my housemates but I also respect personal space and understand that everyone needs some quiet time to themselves. I love to cook and bake, read, drink wine and hold social gatherings. I'm a generally bubbly and upbeat person who gets along easily with others, and I also love to have a jam in the sun on a sunny afternoon with a couple of bevs! I'm fairly social and pretty relaxed to live with and would love to find some likeminded housemates to live with. Although I am a non-smoker, I don't mind living with smokers as most of my friends are smokers!
Relaxed 22 year old male with a naturally happy disposition seeking place to stay while studying primary school teaching for 4-5 years Into video games, movies and gym, always up for a chat or an impromptu adventure, ideally looking for a place I can feel at home and enjoy the company of the people I am staying with, love standing around having a good yarn about nothing and everything - I don't smoke and I drink occasionally I enjoy boxing for fitness/fun, am a mediocre table tennis and billiards player but make up for lack of skill with enthusiasm as I do with all aspects of life Am an experienced cook and live a clean minimalist lifestyle I have my own car and don't mind driving for a late night kebab run love animals so any home with pets would be well received!
I am moving to Canberra to start a grad role after finishing a Masters and working for six months in Melbourne. I enjoy getting out of the house on the weekend to go swimming or hiking and am hoping to join a netball team when I get to Canberra too. I also like to have some down time and chill out at home. I think its important to respect people space and time in a share house but I am also looking for housemates to share a meal or hang out with occasionally.
Hey! I'm Soraya - I am looking for an fun share house to move in to at the start of 2017, pretty flexible on time really. I am a social worker. I love to socialise, relax and have a few cheeky drinks. I would like a house where housemates spend time together as well as respecting each others space. I think I am easy to live with because I am quite laid back and easy to get along with! I am clean (but not crazy about it). I have a 3 year old english staffy named Dudley. He is very well trained and loves humans! We are a package deal, so housemates will need to be dog people.
Hi, my name is Krish and I will be moving to Canberra mid January 2017. I am from Melbourne and will be working full-time as a public servant. 26 years of age, non-smoker and enjoy the outdoors and keeping fit. I am very laid back, reliable and well versed in house sharing. Enjoy socialising but also understand the importance of personal space. Happy for you to contact me if you want to know more.
I'm from Sydney but I'm moving to Canberra in 2017 to start postgrad study at ANU - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
Hello, My name is Randa. I'm originally from Perth but I have moved to Canberra to do my masters degree at ANU. I love to interact with the people I live with and create friendships with them, but like anyone I also like my down time. I always clean after myself and spend a lot of my time at uni. On other days I work part time in the city. I have a strong passion for sustainable living and the environment too.
Full time public servant who moved from Adelaide a few years ago for a grad program. Lover of cooking, quiet saturday nights, and travelling. Owner of a very friendly 2yo female cat. Comes with a living room's worth of comfortable, modern furniture.
I'm a Graphic Designer originally from rural NSW, now working NewActon with a full time position, I am able to start renting. Ideally looking for somewhere in Inner South or Inner North to be able to ride or walk to work and not have to rely on paid parking, and the juggles of my car each day. Down for socialising and meeting new people, casual drinks etc, but can easily keep to myself with extra design work at home (only if i can fit a desk in my room) or at the office. I'm also trying to get a bit more cooking in for the weekly grind to save costs.
Hi there! Looking out for a nice place to live in Canberra towards the end of the year or start of next year. I'll be starting a new job at the Treasury as a policy analyst in February. The house ideally needs to be semi or fully furnished with a parking spot for my car (can be off-street). The room must be well-lit, and can be furnished or unfurnished. I'm a positive, friendly and honest person. I like reading, travelling, and yoga, and also like to keep active by swimming and running. I'd also like to get into cycling, and I'm looking forward to some trips to the snow! My main interests are political economics and international development. I'm quite an easy-going person to live with, and I like to keep things clean and tidy. My partner is living in Adelaide and would occasionally come and visit every 1-2 months on the weekend, so I need to live with housemates who are relaxed in that regard. We don't tend to hang around the house anyway. I'm looking for housemates who I can occasionally spend time with in the evenings and on the weekends. Ideally, my housemates would enjoy having a good chat about the world, and have a good sense of humour. Cleanliness is a must. Please shoot me an e-mail if you have something suitable.
