Hey!
I’m Ash, a CSIRO employee and PhD candidate from Melbourne. I’m going to start my PhD at UQ in April and want to move into a place where I can meet some cool new people in a cool new city. The place looks like exactly what I’m after, and I’d definitely be in it for the long haul, as ill be in Brisbane for at least 3 years.
I like to think I’m pretty easy going and the kind of guy that can talk about anything or nothing given the situation. Love to go out with mates on the weekend and am down to try any hobby I can find the time for (currently addicted to surfing actually). Generally, though, you’ll find me on a hike or on the beach somewhere.
I’m currently working as a fire engineer at CSIRO (yep, I get to legally burn things) and have just come back from living in Europe for a few years. I’ve gotten this once in a lifetime offer from CSIRO to do a PhD at UQ, and I want to give it a crack. Understandably, you might be nervous having a student in your mist, but financially I’m back by the CSIRO and socially I don’t really plan on doing late nights and house parties. Just keen for a movie, wine night or boardgames with my roomies.
Strictly speaking, I don’t have share house experience in Brisbane but defiantly did while living in Europe. I’ve been in share houses in Sweden, Slovenia and Spain with differing sizes and differing cultures. Proud to say that I’ve always gotten along with my roomies, so defiantly keen to do it all again in my own city!
Keen to get to know all your stories and make some more! Let me know if you’re interested and let’s get chatting some more.
P.S if you wanna social media stalk me, my IG is (slightly) more up to date.
