Hi, my name is Jack and I am a 26-year-old PhD student at Queensland University of Technology, where I am studying on a paying scholarship for the next three years. My PhD focuses on Voluntary assisted dying laws. I also work part-time at the university as a Research Assistant within the Australian Centre of Law, focusing on aged-care research, so I have two stable incomes alongside my studies. I also receive a family allowance each month.
I am originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and have previously studied, lived and worked in Brisbane. I have recently returned to Brisbane to be closer to my one-year-old daughter, with whom I share care. Being back in Brisbane long-term is very important to me and I am looking for a property that I can treat as a genuine home rather than a short stay.
I am a quiet, respectful and very clean tenant. I do not smoke or drink and live a low-key fitness oriented lifestyle. Outside of work and study I enjoy cooking, writing, reading, hiking and watching films. I am not a party-goer and prefer peaceful evenings at home, so neighbours are never disturbed.
I take great pride in looking after the places I live in and have always had positive relationships with landlords and property managers. I value good communication and paying rent on time, and I am happy to provide references if required.
Thank you very much for considering my application. I would love the opportunity to make this property my home and to look after it as if it were my own.
