Hi! I am currently looking for a supportive housemate to move out with into a 2-3 bedroom place in the eastern suburbs. I’m open to team-ups. Please note: my profile is managed by my Support Team Lead - Oscar.
A supportive housemate is someone that lives with and provides informal support to a person with a disability. In return, they receive a weekly payment that covers rent and utilities (and possibly more, the figure is negotiable). Informal support refers to general companionship activities like getting a coffee, having meals together, watching a movie etc. This helps with living independently. You are not a formal carer or support worker and experience with disability is not necessary to be a good supportive housemate!
About me: I’m easy to get along with and love to hang out and chat, but I’m also comfortable being by myself. I’m good at keeping the house clean. I’m into gaming, TV/movies, sports (I play basketball on weekends) and I like cooking. I’m currently working part-time in hospitality.
About you: you’re a chill person who’s happy to be a companion as well as a housemate, and you help in keeping communal areas clean. Basically, you’re up for occasional chats and hang outs! Looking for someone in their 20s or early 30s ideally.
Please note, any supportive housemate arrangement requires the housemate to complete a police check and a National Disability Insurance Scheme orientation module.
