Im Jake.
I’m 26 years old and have been living on the Gold Coast for the past three years after making the move up from Melbourne. My current place is being redeveloped, so I’m back on the hunt for somewhere that feels like home with some like-minded people.
I work casually at BWS (around 20–25 hours a week) and also have a second income, so rent and bills are always sorted. I’m currently studying Sports Management at Bond University and am set to graduate in May 2027.
Outside of work and uni, I’m pretty active and social. I’m part of a fitness/social group and usually train a few mornings each week around Burleigh. I’m into golf, catching up for a few drinks on weekends while watching the Saints find creative new ways to break my heart, board games, and just enjoying a good laugh with people.
I’d say I’m definitely more on the extroverted side and enjoy meeting new people, but I also appreciate a calm, relaxed home environment where everyone feels comfortable. During the week my schedule is fairly structured with uni, work and the gym, so I’m equally happy coming home, meal prepping, switching off in front of the TV, and having a laid-back night.
I’m tidy, respectful, and very conscious of shared space. I always clean up after myself and genuinely enjoy keeping a place feeling organised and welcoming. I also have a visual disability (nothing dramatic, I can still see and do everything normally), but it just means I don’t drive, so I don’t need a car space as I ride my e-bike everywhere. A small bonus is that I have NDIS funding which can occasionally assist with things like cleaners or gardening around the house, which I’d like to think earns me a few extra housemate points.
Overall, I’m easy-going, reliable, and pretty low-maintenance. I enjoy a social household where people get along, have a laugh, and respect each other’s space, the type of place that actually feels like home rather than just somewhere to sleep.
