Mérette

Hey! :)

I'm Mérette, a 20-year-old from Germany, currently doing a gap year in Australia. I've been living in Canberra for the past two months, and I've really settled in here, found a lovely community and a part-time job at a climbing gym. I'd love to stay in Canberra for the rest of my visa!

I'm pretty outdoorsy and spend most of my free time climbing, either at the gym or outside on the rocks. I'm always keen to try new sports and give pretty much anything active a go. I've recently joined a volleyball club in Belconnen, and at the moment I'm also on a mission to improve my hacky sack skills haha.

Apart from sports, I'm really into woodworking and making things with my hands. That's actually how I ended up working as a routesetter at the climbing gym, which I absolutely love!

I'm also looking for a second job at the moment, so I'm in a good position to cover rent and living expenses.

I'd describe myself as an active, easygoing and friendly person who enjoys meeting new people, but also appreciates a relaxed evening at home. I'm always up for a chat, a shared meal or doing something together, but I also respect everyone's space and privacy.

I'm looking for a nice place to call home for the rest of my time in Canberra, ideally with people who are happy to have a chat or do things together from time to time.

I'd love to hear a bit more about the place and the people living there! :)
