Hello I am in immediate need of a new home, hopefully within the Armidale region, considering Tamworth as well. Prefer a longer term stay as I have had to move around a bit and would really love to find somewhere a bit more stable. However I will take what I can get as currently in motel accommodation. I am an (almost) 40 year old 'retired' single mum (my kids are now independent adults) so it is just me. I am on a pension with the possibility of picking up some extra hours work to top up my income. I am a housekeeper usually, currently unemployed. I am not much of a social person but I am open and friendly. Quiet mostly, though I do like to sing. I try to vary my time between indoors and going out and about. i am a fairly neat and tidy person but I also don't mind a bit of mess. Super easy going on that one. Though would rather a household that is non smoking or heavy drinking.

Howdy- I’m Matilda, born and raised in Melbourne but I’m moving to Armidale to complete my final placement at Backtrack as part of my social work degree. I have run my own share home in Melbourne for the past 15 years so I have lots of experience in balancing house dynamics and cleaning, communicating effectively and creating a welcoming environment with the right people. I am open minded, down to earth, fun-loving and chill. I have a silly yet witty sense of humor and don’t take myself too seriously. I definitely vibe with those who share a similar sense of humour, appreciate intellectual conversation, are compassionate people at their core, free spirits who don't follow the mainstream media or subscribe to fear based thinking or black and white thinking. I love to cook for others and have found that coming together for a meal at least once a week is the best way to create cohesion and connection in a house where we may all have busy schedules. Im neat and tidy and appreciate if you are too. I love a chat with my housemates when our paths cross, and to develop friendships over time. Some of my closest friends were once my housemates. I try to be as considerate and thoughtful as possible, but I’m always open to feedback and improving myself if there’s something I’m falling short on or unaware of. I’m the type of person that values acts of service - you might find that your dishes got cleaned up with the rest, or your laundry got hung up while you were busy, or your washing got brought in from the line because I noticed it was starting to rain, or there are some treats on the bench to share or an ice cream for you to help yourself to- if you are someone who shares this disposition then we will work much better as a household. My ethos- Respect, honesty and open communication are the fundamentals to a healthy happy house! During my time living with others, I learnt that if we take time after family dinners to have a little check in about any house matters - this keeps the house cohesive and allows for any issues to be brought up constructively. Living with other people will always come with its challenges as we balance each others needs, expectations, personalities and quirks. If you consider yourself to be emotionally intelligent, self-aware, understanding and forthcoming with your ability to communicate effectively , then I would love to live together. If you are unable to express yourself in a healthy and respectful way, passive aggressive, or cannot take responsibility for your emotions/moods etc then I am not the housemate for you.
