I've absolutely loved living in this apartment. The location is perfect, central to everything and in a quiet area. Public transport is easily accessible. The closest bus stop is a 5 minute walk, where you can catch the 196 bus which takes you around west end and the city and back towards University of Queensland. You could also walk to Southbank train station, which is about a 20 minute walk. The apartment is also located on the top floor of the building, so the view from the balcony is great. The room available is spacious, able to fit a double or queen bed, a bedside table, a tallboy, and a desk. And you'll still have plenty of space available. The room also comes with a built in wardrobe. You'll also have access to the car garage. Rent is $205 a week, bills (electricity only) and internet are split.
We have a pool in the complex, you will have your own balcony as well as a shared balcony attached to the living room. There's air-conditioning in the living room as well :) Shared kitchen; electric stove, oven, fridge. There's a washing machine and a dryer. You will definitely have your own bathroom, however, it's not an en suite. There's a single bed and built-in closet in your bedroom as it is partly furnished, you can also add a table in there as there's some space left for a table or other of your own furnitures :) It is 6-8minutes walk to the West End ferry/bus stop and there are two bus stops close by, one adjacent to the unit and the other at the end of the street. If you're getting to UQ, it's not that far since it's just across the river and around 15minutes by ferry. There's a park adjacent to the unit with a playground / bbq/ bus stop; the area is mostly quiet and as we are at the edge of the river, the weather is pretty cool with the wind :) However this unit is in front so unfortunately we are not overlooking the river.

You will access to Wifi, clothes washing machine, fully equipped kitchen desk/working area, and your own toilet, the shower is shared, though. Highgate Hill is a quiet suburb on the edge of bustling West End. It's the best of both worlds ( close but an easy trip to Brisbane's two major universities). The room is beautiful and sunny, quiet and far from the street. Bills will be shared equally when the bills come (the internet monthly and electricity and gas fourth monthly). Just so you can have an idea: it will be like paying around $ 30 extra weekly. If you need to, a laundry and cleaning service can be included for an extra $25. Some rules to keep in mind: No smoking in the house but you are welcome to do it in the garden. No candles or naked flames in the house (100 year old houses burn frighteningly fast). As I wrote before, there's a washing machine available, please consider how much water you use by running full loads when possible. Australia is a very dry country, please limit your showers to 5 minutes and use only as much water you need when brushing your teeth and washing your dishes.
