Highgate Hill, Brisbane

We have two rooms free in a house looking out over the Brisbane River and on to UQ, with great sunset views. The house is in a peaceful location and the garden has plenty of trees and nature. The property goes all the way down to the river's edge from where you can go kayaking (though the stairs into the water are steep). The main part of the house features a large kitchen with oven and gas stove top, and has a bathroom shared with 2 others. The house does get warm in the summer afternoon, however it will begin to cool down and in the winter we have the open fire in the lounge on most nights. Both rooms will be unfurnished.

You would be living with two others in the upper level of the house, and we have two more people in a seperate living area with their own kitchen and bathroom downstairs. The property features several terraced levels including a courtyard and two tree-surrounded wooden decks, so there is always a peaceful spot you can find to relax and plenty of gardening if you enjoy it.

We are looking for people who are not party people, do not smoke and who want to meaningfully maintain a clean, respectful and peaceful house. While friends are welcome, we do not want people frequently coming over particularly late at night, allowing for everyone in the house to relax peacefully in the evenings while enjoying some dinners and chats together.

It's a 25 minute walk over the bridge to UQ making it ideal for students and researchers, and with a bus stop (and small coffee shop) right around the corner, getting to anywhere in the city is easy.

We pay bills as a household as they come in, but it usually amounts to around $20/week. You will need to be approved by our real estate agent but that should be no problem for most people. While there is a possibility for 12 months, we can only guarantee 6 months (ending 17 July) as that is our current lease.
