Holland Park West, Brisbane

Hi everyone!

We will have a huge room available in our cute house around February/March and we're looking for someone relaxed, kind and seeking their own private space. We are only accepting a female (preferably aged mid 20s - 30s).

Holland Park West, 7km from the city, 2 min walk to the Holland Park West bus station and South East busway (it's about 10 min bus to UQ and 10 to the city or one stop away from Griffith Uni). It's a great location for any inner-city workers or students. Bond is approx $500.

It's in a beautiful and safe location leading to a cul-de-sac at the end of the street and a small park nearby with a basketball court. We honestly think it's one of the best suburbs in Brisbane - close enough to access the city, highways and nearby walking parks (Toohey Forest) but out in a quiet, peaceful neighbourhood away from the hustle and bustle.

Affordable rent, extra large tiled room (largest at 5m x 6.2m) which can fit a large bed and some furniture comfortably, comes with some in-room cupboards (otherwise unfurnished) so you are free to make it your own :). The room has its own bathroom/ensuite (shower and toilet) and kitchenette sink and area to set up as you please. Think a studio or small granny-flat set up. It would be lovely decorated and with some plants (for any plant-mums out there! :)

The room has two (lockable) doors. You can access the room through private access through the back or front courtyard and garage back door.

It would be perfect for someone wanting their own space, privacy and split living situation by setting up their own kitchenette space in the room to cook. You would of course be welcome to BBQ outside.

We will share the laundry space in the garage, garden and courtyard :) The courtyard space at the back of your room, is a great spot to set up some herbs or pot plants, if you like.

The room ceiling is a little thin so it wouldn't suit any light-sleepers, or anyone sensitive to sound, unfortunately. The room is also adjacent to the laundry and garage. It's been best suited for computer gamers or students/workers in the past who don't mind using headphones.

Unlimited internet, split bills and us (a couple, dog and 8yo child some weekends) live in the upper part of the house and our dog spends a lot of time outside - so you must be a dog lover and fine with children/family friendly.

Our dog is a rescue and very sweet and friendly, and is a wonderful guard dog. He is super chilled out. We only ask that you are mindful and keep the courtyard gates closed at all times so he does not wander off. He is still figuring out the world and doesn't understand the dangers of cars or roads :(

Bills: We split water, electricity, gas and internet.

This is not a party house and we are old souls who appreciate the peace of our safe space and home but enjoy the occasional social hang with friends or family. You must be clean, tidy and respectful. We are relaxed but maintain the management of our tidy home seriously 💗

We are happy to spend time looking for the right person to join our home. It will be up to 3 months at first and if it's a good fit, ongoing. :)

Our perfect housemate would be a kind, relaxed, laid-back, quiet (please enjoy your space but it wouldn't suit any loud musicians etc.), responsible (paying bills on time is a non-negotiable), clean, independent and tidy woman. If you prefer to keep to yourself, that's totally fine :) - we are quite private and enjoy our own space as a little family, hence why we are seeking a split living situation.

Sorry, no cats or other dogs. Possibly open to other smaller pets.

Street parking is generally available on the street corner or ideally may be best for a bicycle or public transport person.

This is really an awesome spot for anyone who works/studies within the city areas and with a friendly and easy-going couple you would only see outside from time-to-time :)
